Looked through threads on this topic and all are years old. I tried some recommendations made on those posts and just got a 404 error. So I thought I’d start a new thread. I’m looking for comfort seating for long distance travel if that helps.

Anyway, I have a 2003 TJ Sport and I’d like to swap the front seats swapped out for something a lot more comfortable. If you’ve made a swap like this I’d appreciate your feedback on The Who, how much, and any problems you encountered.

Thanks!

PRP is now the GO TO seats it seems.

Then there is Mastercraft & Corbeau & Scat Procar

I’ve heard great things about mastercraft but could never get a hold of anyone there. Decided on PRP daily drivers, haven’t installed them yet but they appear well made.

My Mastercraft seats are 20 years old now but still OK. If I needed to replace them I think I'd go PRP too now.

Do you want new seats because you want a different fit or style or because your original foam is worn out? If the latter, the Summit upper and lower replacement foam is fantastic and designed by a forum member.

Looking for more, and better, lower thigh and lumbar support. Original seat foam is good.

I've installed three sets of Corbeau Moab seats and one set of Corbeau Baja. Moabs are comfortable for many body type. The Baja seats are apparently for short and stout body types and are not comfortable for taller people, in my experience.

I went with the PRP Summit seats.

Because they have so many options for seats and fabric, I went to an offroad show and tried all of the seats out. Highly recommend that because most will want something different.

Can you share why? The one thing I like about PRP is all your fabric options. But when I bought mine Mastercraft was the main company for suspension seats.

I had the PRP enduro reclining seats, these master craft have much more support than those did. For an every day driver the PRP were great however.

Not seeing summits on their site.

They have them on Quadratec listed as Summit Elite. Possibly discontinued if they're not on the website. Close to the Daily Driver high back.

You need to decide if you want reclining or fixed back. Plus how high do you want the bolsters. I wanted something I don't really have to climb over as much. I've talked to a few that got the higher bolsters and didn't like them.

I also have an '03 Sport.
I needed to address our seats a few years before the new foam option was available. We needed new upholstery too, and I didn't have any local shops willing to do the job for any where near what I wanted to spend.
I found a good pair of '07 JK seats for I think $250, that I made work.
Far more comfortable than the original TJ seats, but they don't have the tilt forward function and the recline lever is touching the roll bar.
That's largely due to me having the seat all the way back.

If I was going to do it again, I'd go w/ Bestop Trailmax II

In a pinch... there are several "junkyard" seats that I hear work pretty good as well... but might take a little fab work.
WJ grand cherokee seats are supposed to be an almost direct bolt in on the TJ rails... not sure.

2003 Hyundai Tiberon Seats...

Also heard several others... seen some BMW seats in one TJ... all the controls were manual but had lumbar and etc.
