What did you do to your other vehicle today?

I didnt have internet for the front of this project. And now Im a tweaker when it comes researching stuff :D

Came down to American Powertrain or MDL and I chose MDL. Quality exceeded expectations.

I can't be sure what you are building from that picture but looks a lot like my early Mustang from underneath. If so, I highly recommend Vintage-Mustang.com as a forum much like this one - full of outstanding tech info and 99% good folks with moderation to keep it that way.

Yea, 68 Mustang.

Im over there too :D

Found out late last week the JKU is totaled. Sort stinks overall was 2015 Rubicon Hardrock with 51K miles on it. Was good shape. I managed to let the insurance company let me remove the winch and skid plates. I show up at the auto body shop to get personal belongings out and remove the items. They tell me “No you can’t do that here, what if you get hurt? You’ll have to wait till it gets moved to the next place.” They leave we get our belongings out and I walk up front the bumper was off. Looked my wife and kid and said “four bolts its coming off” grabbed the power tools and 10 minutes it was off. I managed to get ahold of the place where it went and have permission to go tomorrow to remove the skid plates.

Going to take look at the tranny / TC as they said the impact made the DS put a hole in the transmission, I am curious if that really happened or not.

Daughter is already looking at other Jeeps.

This other car stuff might seem lame and un important, but I took this shit apart in 99 :D

Got the balancer, crank and water pump pulleys installed, and got all the missing hardware figured out. Everything on the front is torqued and not just mocked up anymore.

Amazing how much time and money you have when the jeep is done :D

Stings a little to not go the Ford EFI route that that I had always done before. But we decided to go the Sniper 2 route this time for a lot of reasons.

Out with the GT40 stuff and in with the RPM Airgap for the Sniper.

Installed 12 volt power in the bed of my new Ranger today. If you are looking for a quality socket I found the Scanstrut marine socket to be excellent quality. Weather tight cover, cover latches open, also latches over the plug to keep it from falling out, and maybe best of all it lights up red inside! I paid something like $25 for it a couple months ago but now it is down to $15 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CKLW8Z4Q?tag=wranglerorg-20

edit: of course if you're going to wire it hot all the time the red light is not your friend.

Replaced rear brakes and rusted out muffler on the 2016 Outback. Daughter got rear ended in college (NC) and bent up the exhaust in 2022. Home boy backs up, pulls up next to my daughter, gives the finger and takes off. Had to have a local shop fix then, obviously used just a std steel exhaust as it was totally rusted in less than 4 years.

What an incredibly NY situation

Bittersweet moment for me. The Wife and I are downsizing. We sold our 1954 DICO milk truck to my BIL. Our kids don’t have the interest, space or money and don’t want it. Wife’s Father bought it new. He and I restored it in the early 90s after it sat for 25+ yrs. He paid for the body work and I did all the mechanical work. I was in the sign business at the time and had the logo hand painted to the original signage. 1/2” of fine dust through out the inside. Motor was froze solid and it took me a month to free it up. I took the head off and the cylinders and valves were clean as a whistle. New brakes including lines, complete rewire. Had to fabricate a new air filter intake, rebuilt the fuel pump, flush the tank and lots of other cleanup needed. I got it running just in time to have it at his funeral. I’ve been working to get it cleaned up and running good for the last 2 weeks. Repainted the bumpers today. A good wax job and it’ll be ready for delivery to my BIL. None of my 3 BILs had any interest in restoring in but all wanted it after we spent over a year restoring it

It took the puppies and I camping up at Lake Roosevelt on Monday. My neighbor came in his motor home. Tuesday the 10th, we drove the Apache Trail (Hwy 88) over to Tortilla Flat. Definitely not a road for the faint of heart.View attachment 671694View attachment 671695View attachment 671696

That road was closed for 2 days after a Dollar General truck ignored all the warning signs and tried to make it through with a 70 foot rig. Got hung up on the Fish Creek bridge;
