Wildman's TJ is getting a face lift

Picked up a screw jack for the Jeep. It's goes up to 19.5". And I added a axle cradle to it too.

This is the tab for the height sensors. It's made to wrap around the side of control arm.

So my thought is to drill 3 holes in them and then drill and tap the arms.

I'll carry hose clamps too for backup...
And NO heavy duty clamps won't fit in the slot so that isn't a possibility.

Are you gonna cut it a little short so less of it hangs down too

I don't know yet.. I want to play with it for a bit first.
Obviously the best way to fix it would be to weld these tabs to the arms but I don't do Tig...

Or I could just put them back on with hose clamps.... but we know what can happen.

Got the shifter for the 8HP70 today. This thing is SWEET 😋.
Wasn't cheap either but as they say you get what you pay for.
I'd also opted for Blue shifter knobs instead of Black.

And I added the Park lockout for going from Drive to Reverse quickly.

It'll be fun getting it installed when the time comes.

At this point I've got all the parts I need to install the 8HP70. Once it's installed I'll need 4 HPT credits and then get Ryan from FRP to tune the transmission. Also a trip with the Jeep to Seattle so Sound German can flash the transmission with a Challenger programming to enable the tap shift.
Truck versions don't have that feature.

Dude!! I love this. This was the plan with the NAG1 too, get sound German to flash for tap shift. Love the dedicated tap shift. If the 8 speed mated to the 4.0L would be a game changer too.

I'm sure one of the adapter companies would make a plate to mount it up to the 4.0. $$$$$

you better get to work if you want this to be ready by sand hollow

Now I've got other issues.... My shutoff switch on my compressor is leaking. 🤨 So can't use my angle drill on the arms.
So that means dropping each arm individually to drill and tap them. Which really isn't terrible just more work. But will make it easier to do once it's down.

Got the tabs removed and marked where I want the holes.

And then found this while I was under the Jeep.

20260214_153735.jpg

Passenger rear caliper banjo fitting came loose.

No turning back now...
Got the first control arm drilled. Marked the drill bit to know how deep to go.

Learning curve on the first one like always so it took longer to do.

Mounted back up.

I'd added star washers to the screws and Blue Loctite.

Only 3 more to do. Taking my time with the tap. Forgot to pickup a spare yesterday.
