Bicycles are a gateway to all manner of transportation. Gotta love it!

Yep i was riding at 4 also!!!!
Good for Eli!!!!!
He'll be driving that DeSoto in no time...![]()
E isn't a Gearhead like O. Think Chunk in The Goonies whenever a Dodge Challenger drives past O's house. I expect the oldest granddaughter and the youngest grandson will be dukeing it out over the DeSoto.
I was riding at 4 as well... Into trees, over the bars, into garage doors etc... does that explain things?
Well, yeah. I used to push my little bike up the hill from the house and coast down into the yard, grabbing a Maple tree to stop. Misjudged one time and smacked the tree head on. Learned about mass, inertia, velocity, the taste of sap, nuts on the top tube, and brakes.
How about the time I wanted to do an endo, so I decided it'd be a good idea to grab the front brake right after I went off a jump - ruined my nice pants. Mom was pissed lol
Good judgement comes from Wisdom. Wisdom comes from Bad Judgement. We should all be some kind of wise old wizards.
I didn't say a lot about the granddaughter due to the mental health issues she had in her early teens. She was somewhat of a handful. She's gotten a hell of lot better over the last year and a half. She played Rizzo in her high school production of 'Grease' and nailed it. She sings and plays trombone in a local jazz band. Hell of a voice, too. Reminds me a bit of Debbie Harry. She's made a couple of recordings in a pro studio. Her take on Leonard Cohen's 'Hallelujah' will give you goose bumps. She's applying at colleges in Maine and has been accepted at most of them. She's leaning toward USM because of their Music Production program. She wants to sit at that big board with all the buttons and slides.
Sounds like the granddaughter is coming into her own. Good on her. I wasn't trying to disparage anyone, my friend. Merely meant that I've heard enough entertaining stories about Owen to not be surprised if he was successful in acquiring the keys to the DeSoto (with your blessing, of course).
For an overly simple example of insane prices that damn near everyone has experienced, just look at the cost of a damn chocolate candy bar compared to what it used to be. I'll be damned if I'm going to pay $2.00 for a candy bar...
*Apologies. This is supposed to be the Good News thread. As such, I can say that the price of chocolate bars has stopped me from eating something that I don't really need to be eating, anyways...![]()
