2000 SE potential purchase

Thinking about purchasing this 2000 SE with 141k miles. Price is $4,500. It would be my first TJ, novice buyer. What do guys think?

The frame has heavy rust , and the price is to high , but at least it's yellow . Find another one man .

I’ve has a TJ from Ohio. Took a lot of work to fix it. The rust was bad and it didn’t look that bad. I hate drilling out broken bolts.

The frame is rotting and it needs to be repaired, which is what those metal parts are sitting on the bumper in one of the pics.

Define "expensive". It ain't cheap.

It's worth $1 to $2k for the driveline and interior and wiring. You can frame and the swap it.

Or just buy a clean Jeep.

@Chasm correctly fixing any rust is expensive. More rust = more expense. Hiding rust with cheap spray paint is, well, cheap for the guy tryin to hide it.

Lets also not forget that driving vehicles that are too rusted is actually incredibly dangerous.

I've read plenty of stories on here about control arms snapping off while driving down the highway due to rotted frames.

Run Son. I bought my tj on a spur. Had no clue about the hidden rust. Was driving down a trail and the skid fell off one side. The complete lowe half of the mid section was rotted out. That set me on a course of safety cap repair pieces. Ive got it all worked out now but only because I had already bought the Jeep and was committed. Never will I buy another vehicle with any rust rot. It is a nightmare My Man. That jeep 4k another 3-5k fixing and replacing rusty parts. And even then you got a Jeep no one will want to buy. I dont even want to see what the floor pans and torque boxes look like.
DONT BUY THAT JEEP. ONE MORE TIME DONT BUY THAT JEEP.
