5.2 swap questions

When I still had the 44RE I just had the switch. As I said it just needs to be a momentary switch to give that ground signal to either turn ON or turn OFF the O/D. The Black switch was the momentary switch and the Red switch was to turn the electric fan off.

Then I'd swapped the switches out when I was doing some other work to the Jeep and used a toggle momentary switch for the O/D.

But honestly I liked what I'd done when I installed the GenRight center console and had the ON & OFF light to tell me when I'd turned the O/D off. Not that you don't know this but if you're going slower it was just a way to remind me.

I got this to add, looks like an alternator wire and somehow I miss placed the ignition wire to the starter. (Can’t recall where in the harness it comes from - lol)

But all In all, my harness is complete for the most part. Looking to install it today and fire up the motor.

You technically don't need an O/D switch BTW.... The transmission will shift just fine without one. Matter of fact, I think there are at least one member who doesn't have a O/D switch on his TJ and has been driving it for a few years without.

You're almost there......

I've had a Premier Power welder on mine since I did the V-8 swap so I didn't need the alternator wires.... And when I built my new harness I left the wires out of the harness.

Make sure you're paying attention to your engine sensor wires since the TPS or IAC wiring is backwards between the TJ & Magnum engines...
And hopefully you haven't reloomed anything yet? You'll want to lay the harness into the engine bay and verify that your wires are long enough or short enough in all the right places...

I’ve had it on and out of the Jeep.

And I did not use TJ to RAM/ZJ are diff (TJ+ & RAM-)


So ya I just need to get the Alternator & Starter wired up. So I’ll be asking on these after church..

I need this ol’girl to fire up today.

I know you aren't using a Ram harness but don't know if this same thing applied to a ZJ harness so I thought I'd offer up that little bit of knowledge since it had rattles loose.

If I remember correctly the starter wire is under or near the PDC... I think 🤔

Still need to get starter wire figured out or just do a push button as the ZJ and TJ use a completely different start signal wire and location.

And I'll need to figure out more on the alternator wiring. It's wired making power..

trying to get the video here too.

Have my radiator at a buddy's getting a "nipple" moved.
Had to pull T-case back out as It won't shift out of low range. (Re-installing this now)
Interior is all back in it.

Only unknow known is still that Altinator signal wire.

Your stock radiator may not be enough to cool the 5.9.... They run hotter than the 5.2. But I guess give it a shot and see what you come up with.... If it works great.

Sorry haven't had time to look at the alternator wiring... Worked late again last night and was beat by the time I got done.

Mine is not stock I bought a 3 core Full Aluminum with Extra capacity 2 years ago. It was in such good shape I chose to have it modded..
