Looking for wired network router suggestions

I’m guessing 1L should be 1U

No 1L = 1Litre, a tiny form factor pc, they are bullet proof, can run pretty cool and quiet and low power even though they can pack a punch if you want them too

I have a couple running at the top of my server rack in a 1U mount

but they fit anywhere behind screens

The AMD one is fanless and uses less wattage than a rasberryPi

all the others are intel based 12 thread 8700 and 8 thread 7700 with 64GB ram 10Gb Lan and 2.5Ggb Lan


So they all take full advantage of my connection

I'm appreciating everyone's input, actually didn't expect this thread to see as much action, but glad it has. Some options posted here I hadn't considered. For sure I've got plenty to chew on and more research to do.

This is what my company sent me last time I got an upgrade, but mine is neither quiet nor does it pack a punch...but I blame the mook who configured and ordered it, not the device.

to be fair it depends on the brand and model, I used to run a bunch of Lenovo m900's and they would cook but still ran flawless operation 24-7 for 8 years. my Lenovo M720Q's a just a much better design can fit intel x520-da2 10GbE card in them.

but you will find these anywhere, best place is Ebay lots of companies throw these out as they migrated their staff to laptops , and if you dont enjoy any form of privacy you can run windows on them, ...ex corporate machines tend to have baked in windows registration key.

I "finally" found some "smart plugs" that actually have some brains and don't require a control server to run the damn things - they have a built-in webpage to control them. They're not here yet, so I'll see when they get here. We have 3 fountains and a bunch of accent lights that I currently have on mechanical timers., about 10 of them. They long since lost any semblance of sync, and I've wanted to replace them with smart plugs but didn't want to go to the hassle of setting up a server to run them. Or use a PHOOOOOONNE.

Well, those were a disappointment. Long story short, it was a huge run-around to get them to do what I wanted, and one of them got bricked in the process.

So...

I bought a $25 "Shelly". Guess what? I had the damn thing up and running and doing exactly what I wanted it to do inside of 5 minutes. No server needed, although this thing is compatible with most of the popular ones. For what I need, its built-in web server is just FINE. I guess you get what you pay for, pricey but a bit cheaper in bulk. Have 4 more on order, plus looking at an eBay auction as well.
