Monster Jam in Seattle last night. Pit party first was super cool. We didn't wait in lines to meet drivers but got pictures with all of the trucks, ran into one of my wife's students, and watched some BMX freestyle.
The track was big and pretty cool. I think like 6-8 trucks did backflips. Unfortunately, Sparkle Smash didn't do freestyle after a roll in the skills challenge. And it seems like Monster Jam is getting soft by shutting trucks down for a flat tire during freestyle. I remember back in the day when guys (because it was all guys back then) would lose a tire and just keep ripping until they rolled or timed out. Also, I think Grave Digger's freestyle should've won!
Oh, and @PG. is somewhere over in the left side of this picture based on the view he showed me.

I asked my son if he thought the Jeep could do that backflip and he said "no, it would definitely break." lol I think he's probably right!
Vertical smartphone crap with more of the "burned in" text? Complete fail, cannot watch. Thumbs down.
We didn't even get to see her shoot confetti out of the horn. We were all excited to see that.
I actually don't hate those paint jobs. The black and white marker effects tend to be a little over done and too cartoonish for me, which I think is the point of the style, but overall, those types of paint jobs are interesting. Also, the voice over on that video is 100% made up BS.
Interesting , I've never seen this before . For me it works on the Honda , and is a giant swing and a miss on the Vette , Porsche , Camaro , and Nissan .
I guess this is what happens when the comic book generation grows up and gets big money .

I think the Corvette is a complete miss too, but the others work for me, and I'm thinking similar to you about the styling and who's doing it, but it's not the comic book generation, it's guys my age who grew up playing video games and watching Japanese cartoons of the '90s-'00s. I played the video games, mostly racing, but never was interested in the cartoons or any of that stuff.
I don't know much about the cartoons, but I recognize these as some late '90s Jap cartoons and I think this kind of show the style behind it.
And there was something called "Initial D" that was big with some crowds.

If I'm spending a bag of clams to coat a car in something, I tend to prefer a look that won't date the vehicle and materials that will last. A lot of work goes into properly painting a vehicle, I like the work to pay out over time. I imagine the cartoon-ish ones are wraps (and probably not inexpensive ones).
Great point , Since I grew up somewhat poor , my first 3 vehicles didn't even have a radio . Video games weren't a part of my world at all . Dual exhaust and carb induction sounds spoke to me in ways I can't describe ! Foghorn Leghorn , Roadrunner , and Pink Panther are what I think of when someone says cartoons .
Everybody has their own take on what's Cool , I'm glad for that !

That's currently one of my kids favorites. Coyote and the Roadrunner and Tom and Jerry seem to be in their top 5 right now.
I grew up watching a mix of then current and old cartoons, probably leaning more toward the old cartoons, like smartass Bugs and the rest of the Looney Tunes gang. Tex Avery cartoons were probably my favorite, and I still enjoy them. My kids seem to be doing similar as I did since we watch those same old classic cartoons and The Three Stooges, which is where we get our best ideas.
Let my kids see someone get hit in the face with a pie and they'll go wild. 
I had a similar thought that those trendy kinds of paint jobs would be best done in a wrap. (I wonder if you can paint on a wrap kind of like a blank canvas?) But, then again, some trends stick, like the classic lowrider paints. Also, I submit this.....
... and I think it added lots of value to this particular car.
Janus had a contemporary who was also an user , who had a better taste in cars .......
