Aftermarket Head Unit Opinions

Good morning!
I have an 03 sport. Currently has the stock cd player. I have already replaced the interior speakers with Kicker 43CSC54 all around. I plan to replace the crappy factory sub with the Kicker CompRT 6.75" and an amp. My question is, should I just bite the bullet and replace the headunit?

Possible Choices:

Sony XAV-AX100

Pioneer MVH-1400NEX

Anyone got any feedback on either of these? Advice in general, much appreciated!

Yes on the head unit. It’s usually what I replace first, and it makes sense, since it’s the control center. Only drawback can be theft in some areas.

I usually recommend marine head units in Jeeps, just in case you get caught in the rain topless. White letter on dark background helps you be able to read the screen when it’s so bright with the top down. Just a few suggestions. I can’t comment on those two head units!

personally i went with the Bluetooth headunit from Wallyworld. I have little money so it worked and it is lighter. Side note if you do get a replacement headunit and it has space around. Use the packaging material from the box it came in to make it fit nice and snug and not bounce around when off roading or driving on a pot hole ridden road.
