Bolts On Firewall

Hi All,

In my quest to find a place to mount my auxiliary power bus, fuse panel and relay box, I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the two bolts in this picture are for. Was thinking about fabricating a bracket/mounting plate for my Aux PDC and using these two screws to mount the bracket. Also, can anyone tell me what the dangling connector is in the picture and the tubing protruding from the firewall? Was thinking that the connector and the tubing might have something to do with AC if I had it.

The tube of the drain for the a-c. It drips right onto the frame so I took some heater hose that had a 90* bend in it and slipped it over the drain nipple and had it routed on the outside of the frame.

For my ac drain, I used a length of 3/4" heater hose, about 12" long, and let it hang down along the frame rail. As long as you route the water away from the firewall, you eliminate one source of water into the passenger floor.

So now we know what the tube is all about and what should be done with it.

As for the green dangling connector being pointed at by the black arrow, I have no idea what it is for but is it possible that maybe it should be plugged into the black connector behind the black arrow?

And about the two circled bolts, they probably have something to do with the enclosure around the heat/AC stuff inside the Jeep but whatever they are holding in place I don't think it would matter too much if you used them to mount your project.

Those hold the heater box to the fire wall. Heater box is plastic, so I wouldn't use them to mount anything very heavy
