As an aside, I usually strongly recommend Mopar all the time... just not that bumper.

That’s great to hear. I’m currently on stock springs but my future plan is either 2” Pro comp springs paired with 5000x shocks and 32” tires or I’ve recently thought about 1” H&R springs paired with 5100s and 31s. I don’t off-road much and are primarily off-road during hunting season.
Ok so just to keep everything spinning along, Jerry.....why not mopar bumper? Keep in mind I plan on a very modest built and I enjoy this bumper for its looks and winch capability.

If you like its looks that much go for it. It was just my personal opinion it was overpriced for its design and that there are better, in my personal opinion, choices for less $$$. Especially Savvy's.
Savvys is nice. The price goes up for recovery points, and fairlead mount. Up to $418. But for $18 more dollars you would have a more functional bumper thats even lighter but stronger.
I wasn't aware of the aluminum Savvy, that looks very nice. I just purchased a Rockhard stubby front winch bumper, it is short, sweet and to the point. Weighs 50 lbs., has 1" shackle mounts. Cost shipped was $319. I am pleased with it because it is one piece, and very well made in Nebraska.
A have also looked at the Dirtworx bumpers and Rockrail sliders, they are very well made and heavy.
I think it is a ripoff when the bumper makers sell a bumper, then expect the customer to purchase a "winch mount plate".

It's a way to make the bumper less costly for those who don't need to install a winch.

Not knocking the savvy bumper, but couldn’t you just bolt on the winch plate to the factory $100 bumper and bolt in some recovery points? Looks very basic and not much better than the factory bumper IMO. I get the light weight design, but I think the factory bumper will protect you more also from a front impact perspective. The savvy bumper looks to be a sheet of aluminum that you can mount a bumper ornament too. Not much to it.
That's where your guess on how it is made is 100% completely wrong. That bumper is an incredibly well designed and STRONG beefy bumper. Don't let that it's made from aluminum fool you, it's not the same aluminum your grandfather's aluminum screen door was made from. The process to form its T6061 aluminum is very difficult due to the strength of T6061, it take some real expertise and manufacturing prowess to make them. If you ever saw one unmounted up close and had a chance to look at its design you'd understand. It's a favorite of very high-end competition Jeeps like in Johnson Valley at King of the Hammers. Not to mention, again, it is winch-ready without the need for a steel winch mounting plate.

Yea I haven’t seen one in person but I have seen multiple rock crawler bumpers. The Mopar def is beefy as well.
My problem with the Mopar bumper has always been the tubes sticking off the side. You slide into one tree fairly hard and those tubes probably aren't going to fair well. I think the Savvy bumper is a whole different level of beefy. Though, I will say that the Mopar bumper looks very good on the right Jeep.
I have the Warn stubby bumper, which is essentially the steel version of the Savvy bumper. I like it my Warn bumper besides the fact that it is very heavy. Still wish I had gone for the Savvy bumper.
Yeah, they’re hard to come by, but they’re out there. I bought mine for $200 in the Fall. It had rust, which I repaired as much as possible and repainted it. I wasn’t sure if I loved it, so I listed it for $500 to test the waters. It was listed for four months and only two people contacted me about it included the buyer who I just sold it to for $325. I’m planning on selling the LJ and I don’t think it added anything to the value.

Oh, and I recently saw a Craigslist ad for a built YJ with one on it. The guy called it a Warn bumper in the description.
Hence, people don’t know what they are, which is why if you search for “Mopar Rock Crawler bumper” you’re going to get people selling them for a mint. Or you can just search “Jeep bumper” like I did and comb through the muck and you’ll find someone who doesn’t know what it is.

I like the looks of the mopar bumper bit will go with something like the aluminum savvy strictly for weight reasons.
You’ll be glad to know, Chris, that the guy and I came to a deal and I’ll be getting the bumper and the KC lights.

Same here on my LJ. Dirk sent 2 OEM front coil isolators with my Old Man Emu Ultimate lift. He told me I may want to add it to the front after installing everything concidering I had a heavier than stock front bumper, winch plate and winch. Sure enough, I had to add it. I think they are 3/4” thick.
Haha. Thanks. I’m looking forward to getting it and now I’ll be on the hunt for the matching rear bumper. The one this guy had was just in too rough of a shape for what he wanted for it.
