Still that way in heavy trucks. I usually start out in a different/new truck using the clutch to disengage the gears but slip into the next gear without the clutch until I get comfortable shifting without the clutch.

Hand pump the gas into the glass vial. Pay for the volume. Pull the lever to flow it into your tank. I buy gas there every time I pass it. Could care less about the price.

...and how the bias ply tires developed flat spots when they sat too long, or if it was cold out?

I mentioned Green Stamps not long ago and all the young people I work with were lost.
I remember 17 cents at the Woodwards gas bar. It was blended as it pumped. You could pick from 10 different octane ratings.
Remember when you ran over that little rubber hose at the gas station and it rang the bell?
It was far more comfortable to sit at a stop light with yer foot on the clutch, now as you depress the clutch you have to lift yer leg.
Remember "Regular" leaded gas? Or oil that came in cans, instead of a plastic bottle? Remember these...?

I don't remember that. I do remember when you had vacuum wipers, when you accelerated fast, the wipers would slow down.
remember Parnelli Jones in the Olympia Beer Bronco in maybe the first Baja 1000. And ABC Wide World of Sports is filming the race from a Cessna 150..... and the annoucer says "Christ he's going faster than us".
