What transmission and transfer case is in my '99 Jeep TJ?

How do I know what transfer case and transmission are in my Jeep? It's a 5 speed manual. Are they stamped on the case somewhere? What if someone swapped it out?

Transfer case will be a NV231

Transmission will be the AX-5 for the 4 cyl or the AX-15 for the 6 cyl.

It must be car-specific. Didn't have my motor home's VIN ....
