What did you do to your TJ today?

Removed the front bumper to start the winch install and a couple more el cheepo leds.

But..... i created a monster. After having my wife help and do work on the vehicle she won't let me bv do anything unless she is able to help.
This is going to take a while to complete.

That is actually a nice problem to have!

Was a slow day, parked them next to each other like father and son bonding.

New longer brake lines. Last time I had it on the trail I noticed they were acting like limiting straps and one was seeping brake fluid. I put on Dorman H622065, H622066 and H622071. The cost was about $65 for the lines + fluid.

When the wife got home i was able to get a couple things done to the front bumper. Drilled 2 holes and added grommets to protect and hide the wires from the new led lights.
This install is going to take forever having to wait for the wife. Tomorrow is wireing and adding new waterproof connections so i can remove the bumper without having to cut wires.

Question? The ignition key has no feeling between run, off and auxiliary. So when to turn it motor off you can’t tell if you stop in off or aux. (except by the key orientation) Also the key can be removed in any position even with the motor running. Do I need to replace the ignition switch or the key cylinder. Any info would be appreciated!

More than likely just the key cylinder.

You need a new switch, but the cool thing is you can get one with new tumblers so you can keep your old key if you want. I did it myself. It is pretty easy.

Thanks @jazngab I have been reading threads on this.
I still have the stock amp and head unit too.
Was hoping to just replace the sub and be done but looks like I may have to do a complete sound upgrade to get everything right.
Gonna be a steep learning curve, I'm no audio geek for sure.
Looking at a 5 channel v 1 channel, idk, it's all Greek to me. Time to dig in and research.

Any idea where you got it? What brand or exact name? I’d really like to keep my original key. Every thing I find has new keys, which is really no big deal but if I have a option. Thanks!
