yes, done both. i'll never lift another TJ. Way too many advantages to the stock suspension. My next investment will be a MML, a new transmission cross member, and a flat belly. Is it?

HAHAHAHA It's just another data point to consider. What about the video is infuriating?
Cheers!
The answer is in the bump stops. Personally, I don't care which provides more clearance. It is what it is. Each by itself has its advantages and compromises.yes, done both. i'll never lift another TJ. Way too many advantages to the stock suspension. ...
Really ??All he is doing is making guesses and relating his feelings.
Exactly, on a budget, you can start here. 33s on a stock SE.33's, stock TJ, smooth road, yep they fit![]()
Really ??
I saw him actually buy and install 33s and drive the freaking thing !!!! Have you ever put 33s on a stock old SE????? I think someone else is making guesses and relating their feelings, not the guy posting the video.
No matter which way you go, the big disadvantage to the stock lifted TJ is how high you must go to clear the back of the front fender and shocks are a bolt in option for longer stroke. Easier to change than tires. Shocks and bump stops are tuning items. You need bodywork to clear the fender. HighLines do that. The point is that highlines are not able to be cleanly equated with lift.

We are talking about a guy who just bought an SE, can he install 33s and drive it. Answer YES !!!!You know full well that all I'm going to do is blather on about cycling the axles with a floor jack and extending the bump stops. No feelings or guesses required.

We all start some place. On a budget, you find 33s for $300 on rims, ya, have at 'er !!!! Great starting spot. THAT is the joy of the Wrangler. Just getting started. Yer avatar shows zero flex, but I'm not being critical. Many, many formulas to get to the same place. 33s on an SE are not impossible.
We agree, mostly. All of this is an exercise in balancing compromises.
