Hi all! Just bought my first Jeep at the age of 45. Always wanted one and finally just said WTF. She's a 98 TJ 2.5 that is pretty much stock except for bedlined interior and aftermarket bumpers. This is (eventually) going to be my son's first vehicle in about a year and a half, but I get to enjoy it till then. I plan on getting a 4.0 for myself, so I'm getting my feet wet with this one first. Pictures to come. I am a VERY amateur mechanic so thanks in advance for all the help. You guys already helped me diagnose and fix an O2 sensor issue. First of many questions: Is there any reason not to put carpeting over Bedliner?

I don't see any reason you couldn't put carpeting over bed-liner. Hell, of anything I'd think it would serve as more sound dampening.

You can put carpet over the bed liner. Instead of putting factory replacement carpet, you might want to look into a Bed Rug. Not all that much more money and it is suppose to hold up better to moisture and sun (it won't hold the moisture and mold up).

Thank you... Cant tell you how much quieter or warmer... when I bought it I immediately took it down to the frame and restored/improved it. but yes it is warm... wish i wouldve put the Dynamat on the whole thing... but... i can always go back and do it if i get froggy
