It's pretty amazing what you can get in an aftermarket head unit these days. I recently picked up a mech-less (No CD transport) Alpine headunit for $150. The Tune-It software gives you the same tuning capabilities that a $3000 processor did just 20 years ago.
I ended up buying a Kenwood KMM-BT322U. Good price on Crutchfield at 80 bucks. Got the Sirius antenna for 70 bucks, with a 70 dollars MIR and three months free. I'll add it to my account later.

I finally finished up my install and all I can say is WOW. The clarity and sound out of this system is pretty fricken great.

Yes, the steering wheel is properly oriented to the direction of the front tires. They must have been slightly turned in the picture.

Since posting the prototype pics and info, Ive seen a few members posting and commenting on it. They look good in the TJ/LJ. And they are using white backlighting. Being a marine radio head unit, its ideal for the Jeep crowds since we run around topless in spring and summer time when the sun is really bright. The white back lit makes it easier to read in direct sunlight.
And of course it doesnt look all “fast and furious” (read: cheap)

Jumping into this old thread but wanted to know if the Bluetooth adapter worked for you and still works. Want to install the same bluetooth aux adapter if you like how it works. My concern is if the new IPhones / tech would still link to it. I'm guessing they would but would like to verify. Also if it works, what does your phone "see" as the bluetooth link device?
The same company or brand also came out with a 3.5 AUX adapter which would work but like the bluetooth option better.
