Hopefully there's a balance somewhere that you two can find. I mean, you can attain great physical results by starving the soul, but there's a cost to that as well.I was trying to help here by dictating meals, dinner was a salad, meat veggie and carb. she hated it, didnt like the idea that every meal was a 4 course dinner, now she buys hamburger helper and that is dinner. I could not keep up with eating like that. but when we did , her A1C was a low 6, where she used to be mid 7's. now she is in the 8's.
If she hasn't tried it before, it might be worth seeing if something like a veggie pasta could fit in some meals. It's not a zero carb, but it's lower carb than your full pasta. Personally, I like this stuff:
