Thoughts on removing a lift kit?

Bought my 03 Sahara lifted. I don’t go off road after a year of owning it and am wondering for the sake of more day to day fun and drivability, if I might return it to stock. Looking for pros and cons, $$, (tires and wheels, etc.). Is this wise? Is it unusual? Am I nuts? I love the look but not the feeling of less control in steering. I’m very careful but might enjoy a stock ride more. C’mon guys and gals, let me hear from you!

Sounds like a steering geometry issue vs the actual lift. What kind of lift does it have? If you measure the springs, stock lengths were 12" and 8", anything more than that is the amount of lift. You may have a dropped pitman arm installed which is causing bumpsteer.

I agree with the above. A lift shouldn't be causing the issues you're having, unless got some geometry issues (i.e. dropped pitman arm, dropped track bar bracket, etc.).

Depending on what condition the lift is in today and how good it was to begin with, either, or both, of these could play a part in your issues.

Has this Jeep gotten worse over the year you've owned it?

Going back to stock may not help. My brother thinks my stock TJ doesn't steer well, of course he's comparing it to the last 5 BMWs he's leased.
