This is my first post here, so go easy on me. I did try looking for an answer to my question but couldn't find one.

I originally wanted to go with 35's, so the TJ is in the shop getting a Currie 4" SL and the Currie 1" BL and MML. Also upgrading to the Currie currectlync steering system and a Tom Woods 1350 driveshaft to prepare for the 35's. However, after extensive reading, I'm not really sure that I want to go with 35's.

With that in mind, will 33's be/look too small with the extra 1" BL that I'm having added? If possible, I think I'd like to keep the stock Rubicon wheels and fenders because I like their appearance.

I've decided on either BFG ko2's or Nitto Ridge Grapplers, but I can't decide whether to go with 285/75/16's or 295/75/16's on the stock wheels (is this possible without spacers?) or whether to get new wheels with less backspacing. Any advice for this newbie would be appreciated!

If you went with metric 33s would you still install the body lift?

I fit 285/75r16s on the stock Moab wheels and installed a few washers under the steering stops, this eliminated 95% of my rubbing with the stock sway bars. Long term I installed an antirock and 1.25 spacers since they rubbed on the AR arms. I was glad to get the turning back on the trails too.

That's part of what I'm trying to decide. If I'm not going to 35's, is there any advantage to the body lift? Are 33's going to look too small? I discovered the odd 295/75/16 size, which is a little bigger than 33's, but I'm worried they'll be too wide to run on my stock Rubicon wheels without spacers.

Savvy Currie 4" suspension, savvy 1.25" body lift and 33x12.50x15

Thanks Malo, that looks great! I was starting to stress out about the BL making it look odd on 33's, but I'm loving the way yours looks. Now I just have to figure out if I should get new wheels with less backspacing or put spacers on the current wheels. My next upgrade was going to be a Venco big brake kit, so I'd like to stay 16"+

Dump the 1” BL and you’re golden with 33’s. New wheels with proper backspacing or spacers with the stockers

Is there just no practical benefit to the BL with 33's or do you think it looks bad with 33's or both?

Both at this point in your build

Thanks! The BL is already bought and paid for, so I guess I can talk to the shop that ordered it for me and see what my options are. We ordered it with a plan to go up to 35's, but I'm just not sure about making that jump on my DD with the stock Dana44s

Body lift sets you up for a tummy tuck...you could hold off on it as you gather parts. That’s what I’m doing. That is if that is your goal.

The tummy tuck was definitely still in the plans. Is the BL necessary for that? Sorry for any dumb questions.

Mine couldn't easily exist in it's current form without the body lift. And there are a few more areas where I plan to take advantage of the added room.

33s under 4" spring and 1.25" body lift, btw.
