The pin retains the cross pin. It is supposed to move, don't worry about it. The gear pattern looks like that gear set is toast. So I devoted a clicking noise in my front end. Removed the diff cover. Clicking is consistent with gear mesh. Looks like there is a rough spot deep in the groove on ring gear. Also whit is this pin? Factory rubi locker. View attachment 98518View attachment 98519
Who installed the gears?Ya appears to have been a lot of pressure on the gear the way the metal is gulled. Hopefully the rear looks better. Lol.
Will have them check the rear when they do the front.
The previous owner had them installed. He told me they were installed by 4wp. Crazy they were quiet up until now? Can a bad install take a couple thousand miles to show any signs? Hopefully they did a better job on the rear.Who installed the gears?

I missed that was the front which pretty much explains why it took so long. They weren't under much load. The previous owner had them installed. He told me they were installed by 4wp. You need to lock down the driveshaft to find out how much play is in the locker itself.View attachment 98772
