So I was installing the savvy 1.25” body lift today and 3 of the 11 bolts snapped... thank you Pennsylvania. I had sprayed, the best you can, several times in the week prior, but alas I got hosed.

The three bolts that broke and in the center of the tub. Two on the driver side beneath seat and near roll bar and. I broke the middle of the three under the seat on the passenger side.

They broke flush so welding a nut on it is out... I could do access holes , but my first attempt will be to drill out and ez out the broken portion and try to retap the nutsert... when this doesn’t work do I go right to access holes or what else could I try?

Had to step away from it today so I didn’t hurt myself or others, but plan to work on it tomorrow. If any one has any tips or a scream pillow i could borrow I’m listening.

I have one broken one as well (Pittsburgh jeep) Most normal cone ez-outs suck. I think the snap-on style work much better...need to keep watching ebay to snag a used set at some point.

Can you get a torch to 'em? Get the rubber out of the way and get them good and warm before you use the easy out. Drill the holes first. Then thermocycle (triple word score😉) the broken bolt a few times. Then try the easy out. I've had a lot better luck when the torch comes out.👍 Good luck.

I can get a torch on them so I’ll try that after drilling them out.

I can lend you some great cuss words that would make a drunken sailor jealous. 😁I'm a proponent of trying the least damaging/invasive methods first. Someone posted a pic. of a Rigid EZ Out kit that looked superior to the tapered ones such as those made by Irwin or Hansen. You may be able to just buy the size you need if you look hard enough. I would also scan You Tube pages for some tips. Here is a link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000WQYJIG/?tag=wranglerorg-20

Thanks for the link 👍 preparing for battle tomorrow I’ll see how it goes. I have a set up extractors that I used to pull a broken head bolt from a Chevy 350 so I hold they hold up. I just picked up some cobalt bits and plan on starting small and working up to the size. If that works I’ll retap the nutserts if they are still holding fast. If not....

Might have to do something like this 🤔

Hopefully your initial plan will succeed but it's good to have a contingency plan just in case. Good luck and keep us informed. Sometimes it is best to just walk away when the frustration sets in and detach mentally from the job. I've gone back to a successful repair after several days.
