Hi All,

Just a quick intro, my name is Bob and I live in Colorado. I love all Jeeps, but my all time favorite is the TJ! I owned a 2000 TJ Sport 4.0L many years ago, and it was the best vehicle I ever owned. Like a dummy, I sold it in 2004 for a Honda Civic, and ever since that day I have wanted another TJ. Fast forward to now, and I have finally got another one:

It's a 2003 Inca Gold Rubicon. Which was actually posted in the "For Sale Finds" section of this website: https://wranglertjforum.com/threads/2003-inca-gold-rubicon.25738/. The Jeep was very well taken care of over the years (no rust), and is in great shape overall, which is crazy because the previous owner did enjoy it and wheel'd it in CO and UT.

Anyway - I have already learned and have been reminded of a lot by reading this forum. I hope that I can contribute and help out others along the way. Just cruising around with the top off has put a huge smile on my face - Jeeps are the best!

Woohoo! Welcome to the forum and congrats on the purchase of what is arguably one of the best (and most rare) colors for TJ Rubicons. I personally love it!

Thanks Chris! I love the color too, and had been looking for an Inca Gold and suddenly one popped up for sale about 2 hours from me.

The Jeep does have a OME lift and 33's, other than that I am a sucker for the stock look on TJ's and I don't think I will be doing any crazy modifications. It will be used off road for trail rides and forest roads, but I'm not much into rock crawling or anything overly difficult.

The first thing I want to do is upgrade the sound system, but still maintain the stock head unit. The TJ interior is simple and uncluttered and I want to keep it that way, but I do want better sound because the majority of the time the top will be off.

Good call! I'd keep that thing almost exactly how it is, as it looks great with the current setup. I don't blame you for doing the sound system. When I upgraded mine it was night and day!

I saw your post on the sound system you installed - seems like a good place for me to start and from reading the thread it is what I am looking for in my TJ. This forum is super helpful - any question I have has already been answered!

My story is almost exactly like yours. I owned a 98 sport that I adored. Was working on the road a lot and wanted something a little more quiet so I bought a Mini Cooper S. I loved that car too, but as it approached the 100k mile mark the maintenance became frequent and expensive. When I bought the Cooper, I sold the jeep to a friend (who still loves it) because I didn't have the room for it at the time.

7 years later, I pulled the trigger on an 05 Rubicon and I can say that this thing has found its forever home.

I am jealous of your color. My all time favorite.

Very cool - what color is your TJ? My 2000 sport was Patriot Blue, I love that color too.

Welcome, definitely my favorite color but don’t believe in came on the LJs. I’m about an hour west of you in Battlement Mesa. I frequent your area but always in a work truck.
Several of us are running Holy Cross this Saturday but it sounds like more than you care to take on. Probably an open seat somewhere if you’re interested.

Ah Battlement Mesa - not far at all - very beautiful out there. Thank you for the invite, but I am actually out of town this weekend. I've heard Holy Cross is pretty gnarly. Have fun!
