Finally found a TJ

If you want to find out just how far someone is pulling your leg, do a very simple test. Turn the key to the unlock position, (note that there is no power to anything at that position) and then have someone tow you around the neighborhood. Note ODO key on mileage before and after the trip. When you get done with that little experiment,u you will figure out that the ODO does not register mileage in that position and that the mileage you see is the actual driven mileage.
Is that true for all Jeeps? I wonder if other cars don't register miles being towed. I would assume the miles still tick off.
How about driving on the road killing the engine and putting it in neutral for a stick. Let it coast and see if miles still chalk up.

Not to be a piler-on but if someone told me that the accumulated miles on a jeep were from towing I immediately walked away or stopped communication... it is the oldest line in the book.

All TJ's. The only other one I am aware of is the JK which is supposed to have the battery disconnected when towed but not for the mileage but to keep the battery from dying. The JK doesn't have a steering wheel unlock position that doesn't supply power to the rig.

Holy crap, look at that garage floor, it has a better finish than my LJ..... Oh yeah, good look TJ.
I know, right! by the looks of that garage, this lucky TJ is going to continue to live a very pampered life!
