Straight Air Inlet Pipe

Howdy all....is there such a thing as a straight air inlet pipe.....from the throttle body into the air cleaner box across the top of the engine ??? I would like to ditch the big ole air silencers or whatever those boxes etc...are.
I don't want any "cold air intake" I want to use the stock air filter box only...………...any tips on where to find this or how to make it?

Take a picture of what you're currently working with.

Probably an SE with the 2.5. You can use a 4.0 air tube with a short piece of tubing to make up the length difference to the air box.

Thanks . I keep forgetting to take a pic, but it's the stock 2.5 setup. I will look for a stock 4.0 airtube to modify....sounds like a good plan.

You could also just go down to the local hardware store and get some PVC pipe and elbows

Roger on that, but am concerned about the fitment onto the throttle body . I think the 4.0 would even be too large for the 2.5 TB. What do you think ?

If you can't find the correct size connectors/boots at a hardware store, there are plenty of aftermarket options to make your own custom intake tubes. This is just a quick example of what I am referring to. There are a ton of manufacturers out there.

A 4.0 air tube, a piece of tubing, some emissions hose and the connector that connected the throttle body to the goofy box on the 2.5.
