I have been working on my Dubai Jeep for over a year. Started out a turd, now it is lovely inside and out with almost everything replaced. I spared no expense and did not give a damn about cost. I really don't need to do anything other than maintain it and drive it. So why do I want to ship it home, get another one and start wrenching all over? I think the first TJ feels like a dry run for the main event. Maybe I should bring my OBS F250 big block here and start getting ridiculous with that.

You are an addict, like most of the rest of us . I find myself doing the same. My TJ is essentially done inside and out, but I am still looking at TJ's, LJ's, XJ's etc. And I already have a JK that I am still pondering what I should do with it. It's a disease and my wife hates it, LOL.

I bought three TJs brand new back in the day, and with this '97 Sahara, I am reliving those days. I don't care what happens, but I am doing everything as right as possible with the intention of keeping it forever.

We enjoy the process. It's built into man to subdue and conquer. Projects fit in that category in my thinking. Taking something from a turd to a diamond is compelling. Some people do it by adopting kids, others by sewing, others by cooking, and the list goes on and on. My .02c...

when I was in Saudi Arabia I worked In eyesight of Bahrain. Always fascinated me to see mid 60s cadillacs and other American land yachts. A few Jeeps.
But the 06 Chevy Lumina my boss drive was awesome. (06 GTO in America, and a Holden Manero for those in NZ)

the Expats there would buy their own container and have it shipped back to the US. Once their 7 year bankruptcy had finally cleared in American and they had at least a Million dollars in their bank account.

I totally get it. I am still about 3 months from finishing the build on my first TJ and already bought another.

Was too good of a deal to pass up (4.0 Ax15 clean Texas frame etc...) and turns out they were both built on the same day

Yeah, I think we're all hardwired to battle entropy at some level or another. Give a kid a box of Lincoln Logs or Legos and they will try and make something rise out of the disorder.

My penchant has always been old cars & motorcycles. Our last house in FL had two driveways (one in front of the garage and a circle drive) and they were both full. I've since taken a pause from my obsession because we have little kids, but I CONSTANTLY scroll websites looking at viable projects just to think about what I could do with them.

My son (8) built a fifth wheel camper out of legos. Blew my mind. Never thought of that I always built garages and cars.

Haha, that's killer! Is he into tinkering or wrenching? My boy's 7, he's along the same path. He just put together a massive balsa wood "marble gymnasium" thing where you hand crank a gear and all these parts move marbles through the tracks. I never had the focus for that kind of stuff at that age. He's also picked up some of my motorhead tendencies, I'm planning a full rebuild of the 460 in my Mercury and he says he wants to do it. Not help, he wants to do it lol.
