Need help with fender LED wiring

I SUCK at electrical, won't even try to lie. SITREP: New MCE fenders, 3/4" 3 wire LED lights (white- ground, red- 100%, black- 50%), OEM front turn/parking wires (black- ground, blk/yellow tracer- 100%, green- 50%) So far, so good? Hooked wires up respectively (side markers, still incandescent barely come on) and both turn signal indicators are illuminated on the dash, flashers work normal (including side markers), turn signals (including side markers) flash like a strobe light. Suffice to say, things are not normal. I hear an electronic flash relay will stop the turn signal strobe? I will wire in two LED side marker lights (2 wire, 3 wire?)- will that help with the existing issues? Do I have to physically ground anything or just use the harness ground? See, I TOLD you I suck at electrical.

The factory side markers have a floating ground, which is why putting LED lights in that location without proper wiring will not work. The issue is that I’ve never once been able to figure out what the proper wiring is, so hopefully someone else can chime in who has solved this.

When I installed my flat fender flares with LED lights, my lights only had two wires. Red and black. My lights were polarity sensitive. My first try did not work, but I reversed polarity and everything works.

I have the forward facing turn signal/parking lights (3 wires) and the side facing marker lights (2 wire). 97 TJ Sport

This is the guide I followed, worked perfectly. Although I found that using the 560 ohm resistor made the side marker LEDs too dim. I would use a 100 or 200 ohm resistor.

I found it- thank you! Read about the LED flasher negating the use of the diodes (?) and trying to digest the rest.

No problem! But you definitely do need diodes still with an LED flasher module.

Here's a photo of my wiring (see OP for what feeds what). I believe something is spliced between the front fender light and the side marker light (a splice? a diode?). I really need to learn this stuff. When I was in Navy A school, the BEE rate (basic electricity and electronics) had something like a 40-60% washout rate so, I'm trying not to beat myself up TOO bad.

Not sure if there are any diodes in there. They look like regular butt splice connectors. Basically you need to cut off the side marker plug, connect the diode circuit into one wire from the plug and ground the other wire.

I'll try and get a picture of mine when I get home.

First, I deleted the OEM side marker lights because they are incandescent and don't really mix with LED. Now I have three OEM wires on each side (black=ground, black/yellow tracer=100% parking light, green=50% turn signal) hooked into the 3 wire Poison Spider LED light. I also installed the EP26 LED flasher relay under the steering column which has stopped the hyper flashing turn signals. Everything works until I turn the headlights on and then I don't have front emergency flashers or turn signals, just parking lights. Now what?

Sorry, I keep forgetting about this when I get home to take a picture. But I believe this is because you have the wires reversed for the parking light and turn signal. Parking light is 50%, so you should connect the black/yellow wire to the white wire of the poison spyder LED, and green from factory harness to red wire on the LED.

Also, if you're not going to run the side marker lights then you don't need the additional diode circuit from that other thread.

You are absolutely right and everything worked (I figured it out at the last minute)! Now, to be street legal, I have to wire in another set of lights to use as SIDE markers/turn signals. I think I'll make a junk yard run and snag a couple sets of weather connector plugs and seal it all up with disconnect capability. I appreciate your help!

Well, f#@!... I had everything working with only the forward facing parking lights/turn signals and when I went to install the side running lights/turn signals, everything went to shit again. I figured if I wired up the grounds, 50%, and 100% respectively together between the two lights per side, I'd be good, right- oh, hell no. The OEM harness has three wires (ground, 50/100%) but these f-ing LED lights don't just respond to what the OEM wires tell it to do. I'm probably f-ing something up but, right now I'm ready to trade it for a f-ing bicycle.

Are you using the same type of 3 wire LED for the side marker as the front facing parking lamps?
