I've seen at least one member here who wrapped half doors to match the color of their Jeep. Who has done this? What did you pay?

I did it. I think I paid $300. The colour is close enough to not look stupid but you can definitely see the difference. So far it has held up well.

Here are some pics. As I said the colour shade is really close but you can tell the difference in good light. There is some fit and finish areas where you can tell it is a wrap. My long term plan is to repaint the Jeep and I will get the doors done at the same time.

I was quoted $1000 to paint with absolutely no guarantee of a colour match. Most of the shops near my do collision repair so don’t want to touch small jobs like that. I am sure if I looked harder I could have found someone but probably not for $300.

I had my tailgate repainted and was able to get it done for $300. Other quotes were $700. I can’t see getting doors done for less than $600.

Has anybody tried buying wrap and doing it yourself?

I know a guy who used to do body work and still does on the side at his home. He quoted me $250. That price included me removing the door handle and NOT painting the door jamb.

Very timely as I just picked up a pair of silver 1/2 doors this weekend for $280. They are in almost perfect shape, but are silver. My jeep is green. I was thinking of spraying them myself or wrapping them. I have not decided yet.

I was debating on wrapping the doors I had or bedline/etc.

Seeing the $700 quotes to paint really settles it, lol.

What's the tallest portion of the half door? Would a single 24in wide strip of vinyl do it, or should I go with a 60in wide?

I wish we were closer, I would pay to trade some with the right factory paint. You could use the $ to go towards your paint job.

Tallest part is 22" so 24" would be plenty wide enough. Personally I would not do bedliner as it would be pretty difficult to go back to paint in the future.

Where are people finding half doors for this cheap? 🤯
Was that FB marketplace? Salvage? eBay?
