I currently have the uniden pro 510xl cb radio mounted in my jeep and the 3' firestik antenna mounted on the rear left taillight. I plan to go with these taillights with this poison spyder rear armor. I will have to move my cb antenna elsewhere and was wondering if anyone had any good ideas for where to put it.

Firestik makes a mount for your left front fender
I couldn't remember if it was @toximus or someone else, but I saw a cool design that they mounted it inside their soft top. If anyone knows who it was, can you show the details please?

That was me.

Given the understanding that a 2' firestik will be harder to tune than a 3' one-

If you kept the antenna tip at the same height above the ground, would a 3' mounted lower or a 2' mounted at a "normal" height make a difference in the SWR's?

I used a piece of angle iron the width of the bolt holes on the tailgate for the spare rubber bumpers. Drilled holes to mount it there and then drilled a hole for the coax plug. I'll try to snap a picture later. I thought I had pictures already but can't find them.

AM/FM/CB antenna splitters don't work well at all. Save your money.

It is not a splitter, it is a diplexer. Using something like a Firestik I would expect the VSWR to be terrible in the FM band but it still might work ok. It is a given that the VSWR in the AM band will be terrible but it doesn't matter down there due to atmospheric noise.
