What does SYE and DC shaft mean? I’m looking at suspension lift kits now and trying to find a good one which would work well.
as taylormade73 stated..... SYE = slip yoke eliminator & DC shaft = double cardan drive shaft.
the SYE and DC shaft are additional components to a suspension lift above 3".
some will bicker over the point this change NEEDS to be made. but installing a lift then dropping the belly to quell vibes is directly counter productive to the height you just gained.
if you cannot gain/achieve the angle you need from a MML it's already time for an SYE IMO.
my honest advise would be to replace the worn body mounts with OE rubbers and add the 1.25" BL & a MML.
ditch that huge fugly misshaped rear flare for a trimmed stock piece. and attempt to guestimate some bump stop temporarily until this is sorted.
what use do you have planned for this rig? is it just a cool ride around town? or are you gonna take it to the trails?
you can slop together a cool lookin Jeep easy enough......to build 1 that functions on the trail is another monster and if you cut corners you'll be disappointed, not us.
some things are becoming redundant also. if your willing to do HL fenders and trim the tub you don't need more lift. if your gonna do more lift you don't need HL's or trimming. it's all about getting the wheels enough room travel to function and either method will work. it's just where do you wanna spend your $.
and the BL and MML will compliment either set up.
