Dome Light Wiring

So I removed my speaker pods which leaves me without dome lights. I have worked up a 4' piece of 4" velcro to cover the roll cage above head. It will have 5 12V LEDs. So here are my questions:

1) Can I just wire them in parallel and tap right into the existing dome light wiring? Or do I need to do something else to make this work.

2) What size wire should I use?

3) Can I purchase the same connector the pods use and plug that into the existing wiring? If so, what is that connector called?

I will include a link to the exact lights as well as a wiring diagram.

That totals 45 watts. I'm guesstimating that the stock light outputs are about 10-15 watts each, totaling 20-30 watts. You may end up blowing a fuse and/or damaging the wiring. If you want to go with the full 45, you should run a separate circuit, 18 gauge wire would be fine, 16 would be extra insurance.

That is a massive amount of light for your dome light, you could safely perform open heart surgery under those suckers. One would be 10 times the light of the stock setup. I'd look for something way less powerful.

With the "stay at home" thing, maybe it is for surgery.

While I'm not performing open heart surgery... the goal is to essentially have a work light.

What I'm taking from this is give up on that idea wire one light per side and be done with it... sounds like a plan!

I'm sure that just those two will be very noticeable. I replaced the stock bulbs in my domes with LED's and it was very noticeable
