Are Johnny Joints what differentiate quality control arms from lesser ones? I guess I am just trying to understand since Currie, Savvy, Clayton control arm sets all run around $1200 and they all use JJs.

Are there more affordable sets that are worth looking at that don't use JJs? I would think even cheaper sets have to be a good upgrade over stock?

The general consensus seems to be JJ is the best you can buy. I wouldn't mind a set of MC arms, but if I was going to shell out the $$ for a set, I would go double adjustable. I don't see those on the MC site.

Thanks, I am pretty sure my Jeep shop can get these 10% off and if I wait for a free shipping sale I could make out OK with these.

I wonder how long those Duroflex joints last in comparison to the JJs.

OK good to know. I am just trying to make the right choices and spend my $$ wisely and there so many options\variables.

Should I beef up my Steering before the CAs? I know the answer is do both, but i'm trying to stretch my budget the best I can with stage one.

My plan has slowly been evolving based on research\budget\advice.

I am pretty much set on the following:

OME Lift
1 inch MML
1.25 inch BL
JKS Front Discos (I was looking at anti-rock but I think it might be overkill)
JKS Adj. Front Trackbar

Still Deciding:

CAs - Maybe only front and Rear lowers to start
Steering - ZJ V8 upgrade vs Currie (Again cost is a consideration)

Down the road at some point?:

Tummy Tuck
Axle upgrades (Super30\35), Re-gear and Front Locker

I run those same tires. You will be fine with the ZJ tie rod conversion. Just remember they ship as raw metal so will a coat of paint.

I'd go ZJ steering first. I've put mine thru a fair amount of abuse with no issues. If you do CA's, I'd suggest uppers first if you space out buying them as you can afford them. That way you can adjust your front caster and rear pinion angles after the lift. Add lowers as your wallet recovers. Double adjustables will save you a ton of time for adjusting, but are more caps. I have Metal Cloaks arms except for the rear lowers which are Currie arms with JJ's.

MC front uppers... Yes, the lowers are Currie's.

Rear upper DA's...

I was thinking of doing the lowers first only because don't they take more of the abuse on the the trail? The stock CAs look pretty flimsy.

Surprisingly, the stock arms can take some abuse. Hit a rock just right though, and yes you could wad one up. I suppose you can adjust your caster with adjustable lowers as well, so your call. I did 2 at a time as I could afford them, and I started with front lowers because, at that time, I was fighting DW. New lowers solved my DW.

I definitely can't swing all of them at once this go around I know that much. And I'm gonna make the ZJ steering upgrade a priority. Thanks for the input.
