Hey now.......:)

Wife and I took a motorcycle trip to the Asheville, NC area back in 2004 for a rally. Whole area was beautiful and experiencing the "smoke" from the Smoky Mountains firsthand is something everyone should have on their bucket list. That being said.....

By the end of the week, the wife and I were having a little difficulty in that everywhere you turn, trees. And more trees. Now, it wasn't the fact that we were seeing trees, but, that was all we could see. We missed seeing the horizon. We missed being able to see more than "over yonder".
Yes. Tennessee is quite full of foliage.
And yes, it is so thick during the summer that you often cant see even 4ft off the road.
But we have "mountains"

After buying my Jeep last year, I started to look up more Jeep-on-trail videos than I had before. Started to dream of a Colorado trip someday. But it's 600 miles from here to Denver (or Colorado Springs where I was born and had grandparents there). So, to be fair, I was not relishing driving GEEP4ME across the superslab, struggling to maintain legal speeds, getting blown off the highway by a Kenworth, or heaven forbid, a Freightliner. I just figured we'd take it slow and stay off I-70 and take 2 lane highways all the way across.

Or rent a trailer and haul the stupid thing, LOL.
I drove KC to Moab, straight through last year in the LJ. It’s not that bad.

Hehehe, You have small hills.... We have mountains out west and in Alaska.
yeah i hiked one of those 14k footers when i was in CO. locals thought i was nuts. it was mysecond day in CO.
also drove my '86 accord hatchback up the pass that goes behind henderson mine. Boy the looks i was getting from people driving jeeps. it was great. 3inches of ground clearance? no problem

i just had the most novel idea. maybe i should actually finish building my '89 4runner, and use it to tow the TJ out to UT.

the 3.0 tows the 4.0

@RustyAutoholicGuy
but you're totally stopping in nashville so we can caravan to UT. right? right?
(;

so i've been toying with the idea of overlanding my way there as well. would be cool to do some light trails on the way to utah. esp in colorado

I'm trying to figure it all out still honestly. I'd love to caravan and overland my way to Moab! I think that would be awesome!

As far as drinking on the trails.

from my offroad experience. which isnt much. the first time i went wheeling, and saw people drinking while wheeling, honestly, it just made me uncomfortable, and it has ever since. Alcohol + keys in the ignition = a no go, everytime.

Do what you want. and i will too. Yay america. :)

I'm in agreement with you 💯 on this! That being said I'll be bringing some local beer with me for everyone to try as well!

I’ll be out there this July, I didn’t do the obstacles on Hells Revenge as there wasn’t a single other experienced Jeep out there and nobody to spot. @AgentLJ if you’d want to show me the lines on Hells or hit up some of the other trails when I’m out there, let me know.
July sounds like a good time to visit ;)

just got back yesterday from up in Moab and had a blast! one of the guys from the local group here in NM told both me and the future Mrs. about the trip yall were planning. so as long as LJ's can be apart of it i think we were both looking in to going. its about a 6/7hr drive depending how much we drag our feet. to get there for us. the place is beautiful if you have never been it really is a treat to see the area. we were there for three nights and wished we could have stayed longer.

Well considering an LJ is a TJ Unlimited, yes, you're more than welcome to be a part of it ;)

It should be a very fun event. It's far out, but that gives us plenty of time to plan.
