Why Didn't The TJ Get a Stock "Cold Air" Induction?

People come and go like a fart no matter what goes on here or anywhere. It's just the way things go. If this place is good enough to stick with, then why not have some fun. We can only tell people 12"/8" so many times.

You’re right, you’re right. I’ll add one thing then I’m done- it was a rewarding royal pain to do all my own work other than gears and sye that I had a shop do. I’m thankful I learned and did the work I did and wouldn’t be able to afford a properly built jeep if I was paying for the labor. Thankfully, the regulars on here steered me away from the junk parts from rough country etc. It generally all sounds a lot easier reading on here til you’re under the jeep trying to do it but that’s where the forum is so valuable. You guys that have done it all 10 times have been extremely valuable and I’m thankful. I just remember being really pissed as I was searching for info when I ran into problems and had to scan through a bunch of crap to find what I was looking for. So mrblaine, jjvw, jerrybransford, toximus, chris, and many more etc I thank you. But the folks that ask what to name their jeep and chime in on every thread about their favorite stickers can still go fuck right off. Go back to the mindset when you needed help and I think you would understand my point of view.

Do teachers complain loudly about the same questions being asked year in and year out by each new class? Do teachers tell new students to go do a search in the library for answers to the more commonly asked questions they've grown tired of answering?

Some are happy teaching undergrads and are happy to answer repetitive questions from new students while others are only happy answering graduate level questions and can't be bothered by the rest.

Impatience with oft repeated questions is no virtue for anyone who makes himself available for questions.

Dude, I’m saying thank you to people like you. I know people have the same questions a lot of times but I attempt to help on those too if I think I know what I’m talking about. But seriously, how would it be bad for the forum if people searched before creating new threads? There’s so many threads on here that you can’t get a straight answer without asking again. You’ll prob block me out now and that’s fine, I’m done with my build so I’m good. And again I’m thankful for the info I’ve gotten. But I assumed I was utilizing the purpose of the forum every time I searched rather than post a new thread when I had a basic question.

And shit, teachers do complain about that repeated question stuff. It’s been a while since you were in school but folks normally use google nowadays so the teacher isn’t the only source of info.

Poof! Another one in the ignore list. That's two, who's next?

I've been on the Internet since the mid 90's and have never, ever used an ignore feature until I hit this place. I don't know if that's good or bad, but "whatever". But if this is indicative of the Jeep subculture as a whole, I'm selling mine and to Hell with it.

Searching is for google. Forums are for interaction and with that comes each individual's personal way of doing that. If that wasn't the case, forum would be a data base with the info grouped in sections of FAQs and answers.

I have to agree, I like how Chris lets threads keep being made even if it’s redundant. Other forums tend to have a bunch of forum regulars who pounce on all threads with “Use the search button” and close the threads.

It’s convenient to post a thread if there is a quick dumb question that you know someone will answer in minutes rather than spending 10 minutes searching and not finding the info you need.

I've actually tried to search for stuff when I know I've seen it, it ain't that easy.

It is certainly not easy. I can type in a thread title verbatim and it doesn't come up as the first result and often is very low on the list. No offense, Chris, but the search function on here leaves a lot to be desired.

The built in google feature works decently if I know what thread I’m looking for. Just hit the google tab after you search.

Gotcha. It's interesting that the Google search is more accurate than the forum search.

I've almost posted up a thread with a specific question just because the answer is so hard for me to find. Admittedly, I'm not good at searching forums, much better at finding stuff on the internet.

Recently I've been trying to find the exact number of the lamp that goes in the HVAC control panel on an 05-06 TJ. Lots of hits for LED conversions and how to modify them to work but I just want the stock replacement and the 20 that Rock Auto sent out are for the instrument cluster. Not the same.

Last I saw two days ago you had 780 posts. Now it’s 820. Do you think you’re adding value to this forum or are you just mucking it up with crap that doesn’t make it easier to find useful info and doesn’t help anyone learn what they need to know? You and that guy with the pencil drawing of him in a hat that asks what color his tail lights should be.
You have to be chatting with our favorite skirt wearing angry Luddite.
