California Slick Rock / Deer Valley Trail July 18-19th

Super fun. I'd rate that obstacle harder than anything on the rubicon. At least the section we ran.
Is that the name of that obstacle? Winch Hill? There’s still Old Big Sluice we didn’t run, I think it would stack up.

That says something being you didn't have a rear sway bar! Crazy at your TB bolt. That happened to me once years ago when I still had a stock TB. Left work for lunch and go just past the gates and got weird. Bolt was gone and the axle side of the TB was dangling!
I feel like a dodged a bullet with the TB. It could have been bad. Especially since I'd need to drive 45 min in each direction to get cell service from where it happened.

I guess we need to do old sluice now.

According to Mike it's called winch hill. Did you guys all make it up?

I don’t know if you remember but that happened to me on the Rubicon when I was bombing back down the road looking for Sergio because I thought he turned on Barker Pass, just when I found him the bolt fell out and I had to borrow a bolt from him.

Now time for the clean up the jeep, tow strap and tree strap. It was well worth it

My understanding from some guys I talked to that helped with the new section is that it is called winch hill.

If it’s not that name seems fitting lol.

Great pics Alex, we had an amazing time with everyone.

Really glad your Track Bar Bolt didn’t fall out on the pass.

@Plumber1 and I made it without pulling rope, @Lonewolf would have if he had a locker up front
Yikes! Sounds like you two need to get BMB's ARP TB bolt/nut combo.
I'm sure mine broke, I had a locknut and blue thread locker on it, I came over a bump and locked the tires up cause there was a family in a bronco pulled off the road, I asked if they had seen the 4Runner just then he showed up and when I drove forward the Jeep steered off to the left. Definitely not a warm feeling.

Did you guys make it up ok? The group with the broke red LJ pulled rope on three rigs, the red one winched all the way from the bottom, we were there for hours. I now know why a lot of rigs that passed us were going back when we were having lunch.

Sounds like Winch Hill is no joke! So, you guys turned around before this obstacle?

I was the only one that made it up without winching but I was also 4th to try, so lots of rocks were already stacked. If you ask @midnightljr though he will say with a better spotter he would have made it up 🤣

Someone I'm sure has a photo but we were going far left and it looks like you guys went far right.
