Auxiliary switch back lights?

Are there back lights for these? I'm assuming they're all aftermarket... The only one that works at the moment is the rear windshield wiper/fluid... I'd like to eventually get the KC headlights hooked back up and see if I can get the rear defrost to work for the hard top... So.id like to have lighting behind the switch cluster.

The two on the right are aftermarket switches. She should have back lighting for the switches, but that would require them being wired up. I'm assuming they aren't, since it sounds like they don't work.

Yes, each switch has it's own light that is contained inside of it.

I see I am not the only one, every time my wife rides or drives my TJ she leaves some sort of hair tie /clip on my shifter lol

It's my TJ so I feel at liberty to leave them wherever I please... Plus I desperately need that collection of clips and elastic to keep my crazy mane out of my face whilst in beast mode [emoji41]

You should be able to just replace the bulbs. When you remove the switches, there's a bulb you can take out of the back, it looks like this:

My wife must have a huge collection too because they seem to be everywhere lol, her Jeep, my Jeep and in every one of her purses. She love purses so she has a bunch. lol

Yup, Amazon. I just ordered one that says "Dome LIghts". Going to wire that switch into my #4 fuse behind the glove box so I can turn off my dome lights at will when I have my doors off or are just working in the jeep and have doors open... Guessing there is no backlight for the lettering on them. But if I find out differently when I get the switch I will let you know.

Those switches, be prepared for sticker shock...$20-$30 usually. The ones without the fancy lettering are cheaper...and there are other options that fit in the switch panel, but don;t look like the OEM stitches, that are around $8 each. You can get them on Quadratec, Extremeterrain, Morris 4x4 etc...

I don't know if your aftermarket switches have backlighting elements or not. If they do, you can use the orange wire that controls the backlighting for the OEM switches to power the backlight function on your switches. The orange wire is "hot" when the dashboard lights are on (when headlights/parking light switch is on), and it also changes intensity with the dashboard dimmer. I wired in after market Contura V switches from OTRATTW for my KC lights and Aux Reverse lights. I cut off the oem connector and used regular spade connectors on the switches' posts. I jumped the backlight wire through each switch. The black wire is the OEM ground for the backlight circuit.

So I bought one of the aftermarket rocker switches like pictured by the OP. It says “Dome Light” on it. The idea was to have the switch to turn off the dome light circuit at will for when I have the doors off or am working on the Jeep with the doors open.

I Wired the Red wire to right side of dome (#4) fuse circuit in the fuse box behind the glove box (with inline 10a fuse). And wired the black wire to the left side of the dome circuit in the fuse box behind the glove box. Obviously I removed the fuse in the fuse box. But the switch also had a white wire. Basic instructions with switch said to send that wire to accessories relay. This confuses me. I don’t know what that means. I mean the switch works without connecting the white wire but the light on the switch when the dome circuit is on does not light up.

I tried tapping the oem rocker for O/D. I tried the orange wire and the orange wire with white tracer but neither worked. I also tried the green wire and that lit the light always regardless of switch position.

Can somebody please try to help me figure out where to connect the white wire?
