How do you like that air intake setup? It would be nice to gain the room the factory box takes up.
Love it!
It seems peppier, and def more space! It's from a Ford Windstar minivan. I'm pretty sure there's a write up here on how to do it. If not, I know it's on some other forums. If you do it, I can shoot you the amazon links for the reducer...I think there's a youtube video too, but he uses the wrong size hole saw. @jjvw has airflow comparisons somewhere as well.

Installed a Joying 8.8” single-DIN Android floating screen head unit. The widescreen aspect ratio fits perfectly between the vents and HVAC controls, though I need to adjust the screen up a little. It has wired and wireless CarPlay, and looks and sounds great. And because it’s single DIN, I was able to keep my silver bezel.

So I added wireless steering wheel controls from Amazon today since this uses a touch screen slider for volume control. That’s probably the only knock I have on the unit... It's almost unusable while driving... But this fixed it. I just used the volume one and mounted it on the back side of the steering wheel.

I also adjusted the screen up one setting and it looks better. Even though it’s above center, now when I’m looking down at it, it isn’t blocking the view of the HVAC controls anymore. I had to remove the trim that hides the mounting brackets and ribbon cable, but it's tight enough to the dash/single-DIN adapter that you can't really see them anyway, so I'm fine with it.

Now I just need it to connect to my OBDII scanner to use torque and I’ll be all set.

I really like how the large screen fits in that area.

I really like how the large screen fits in that area.

It really fits well. I looked and looked for a good solution, and a lot of the options were just too big. The Sony was just a little too tall, and the Alpine was way too big. And I really didn't want double-DIN to keep the stock silver bezel. The CarPlay implementation is pretty good for what is likely an unofficial version. And the Dashboard feature that Apple added to iOS 13 is much better with the widescreen.

So, I did my front brakes today after I had a caliper seize up yesterday when I wanted to go for a ride. Did everything, rotors, calipers, hoses, pads. I greased the 7 grease fittings for the front end while I was there. My rear view mirror tab fell off my new windshield yesterday so I glued that on today as well.

Now of course, I have a check engine light. Codes are: P0122/P0123 for the TPS. I know my ground from the back of the block to the firewall broke off, so I'm hoping that's the culprit. If not, it'll be multimeter time.

I just got my tj a week ago. A few days ago I looked and saw that the radiator had a JB weld fix on the top of it and the hoses were bulging out. So today, I replaced the radiator, water pump, thermostat and housing, and radiator hoses. Also gave everything a little flush while I was at it.
