Hey guys. Just recently got myself a 2000 Sahara with 100k on it. Some kid had it before me and looks like he Tried to make it “faster“ for as cheap as possible. Has What looks to be some auto zone special air intake and this thing under the hood called a g force performance chip?? Anyone have any idea as to what this is and if it will mess up anything if I take it off? Trying to get the Jeep back to a factory setup And get rid of this cheap stuff! Thanks in advance for any help!

A quick google search brought up a couple of lawsuits in California surrounding that "Performance Chip." I would definitely remove it and restore the factory wiring.

Looks as though its spliced into the MAP sensor and IAT sensor; not sure what else.
It appears that each chip is unique to itself and has not software; the chip is burned for the specific vehicle and is reported to increase gas mileage, performance and lower emissions. There is a lawsuit against the company for false claims.

Wow, that's some really fuckery right there.

Don't you just love when asshole previous owners do shit like this just so you and I can de-rig their bullshit?

Definitely remove that garbage (which is all it is).

Turbo City produced a similar product for the Jeep 4.0L, but it didn't last very long on the market...

Since it appears to use Scotch loc's to tap into the factory wiring; be careful when trying to remove the wiring taps.
Recently helped a friend remove an aftermarket product that was tapped into the factory wiring on a Jeep; the factory wiring was damaged due to the scotch loc's and during the removal of them. I needed to solder and shrink tube the connections together.

Thanks guys for your reply’s! Yeah It’s pretty horrendous how some of this stuff is wired. Looks like he did it blindfolded. I just unplugged it so now I hve to figure out the best way to Repair this wiring. Looks like the cats are missing as well and the Jeep only has one downstream O2 sensor. This thing Shouldn’t affect anything being done with that should it? Sorry my my ignorance, not much of a mechanic!

I would disconnect the battery and when you try to remove the crimped connectors; be gentle when removing them otherwise you could damage the wiring worse than it already is... Once you have the crimp connectors removed you need to repair the wiring that is frayed and seal those bare wires with electrical tape or fusion tape to keep them moisture proof. During this period of repairing the wires; the ECM will be reset and relearn fuel adjustments.
As for the missing O2 sensors; if the bungs and the harness connectors are still there; you should consider installing replacement NGK/NTK O2 sensors.

I'm generally for soldering, but this close to the heat of the engine I don't know. I guess the plastic would be melting tok if the solder is.

ok will try and fix the wires this weekend at some point. I unplugged it earlier and drove it to work tonight with no issues. Not sure why someone would put this cheap crap on a vehicle in the first place! Now to get a factory air box back on it. Did not see anywhere for o2 sensors to plug into. I think this may be an aftermarket exhaust as well so guess its something else I have to fix! Thanks for the help guys!

Look here in the resources forum for your factory service manual, everything will be there.
If you can get the Scotch locs off clean, I think liquid electrical tape would heal the wounds w/o cutting/ soldering.
