Hey guys, I have a 98 manual Tj that ran like a dream up until some heavy rain and minor flooding the other day. I drove the car home just fine, however the next day had a little issue starting it, my radiator fan blew at all times and having high idles 2000 rpm I drove like that for a while parked the car, attempted to move it and it would crank and start occasionaly, with the rpms moving all over the place. What can I do to troubleshoot?

Maybe you're just off on that 1 foot estimate. 1 foot of water on the ground doesn't sound like enough to cause any problem.
Water deep enough to hide the bumper usually wouldn't cause any issues either. 1 foot over the bumper, now there's some potential problems.
Some questions:
Was the water deep enough to come in the doors if they were open or off?
Was the Jeep sitting in water and you started it then drove it out or was it driving OK until you drove into and through the water?
6 cylinder or 4 cylinder?

I'll suggest everything will be fine in 2-3 days after enough time for the moisture to evaporate. Fresh water seldom permanently harms low voltage electrical circuits
I hope you're right Jerry! I have the 6 cylinder 4.0l. The water did not go up past the doors. Car was not sitting in water, i drove through big puddles though and the whole car was soaked from rain. The throttle position sensor is acting up though, and throwing a po123 code.
