as far as I can tell, all of these are assumed to be human-caused being that there hasn't been any storms to cause lightning. Cameron Peak has covered the state with enough smoke for the last 2 months that it's impossible not to be aware of it anywhere in the northern front range. I know there are a lot of morons here but are there really enough ignoring the wildfire situation we have and negligently starting more? Or is there somebody going around starting them? Calwood, Lefthand Canyon, and East Troublesome all started in the past week, and East Troublesome grew by 100,000 acres essentially overnight.

honestly, nothing surprises me anymore so I fully entertain that possibility.

My cousin lives near Boulder and has pretty bad asthma. Poor guy basically hasn't been able to go outside for 3 months.

Had ash covering my jeep the other day while parked at the office. Last I heard they still hadnt determined cause of any of the fires, though I wouldnt be surprised if it is just neglectful campers. The mtns have been packed this year due to covid. A buddy I wheel with posted this to his facebook yesterday (Sgt Sage for those who know)

Was texting my sister earlier and looked up stats

Cameron Peak is at 207k acres
Calwood Fire (started Saturday) is 10k acres
Lefthand Canyon Fire is 10k acres
Troublesome Creek Fire is 126k acres (grew 100k in less than 24 hours).

Thankfully today is chilly with drizzle and high humidity. We havent had much moisture this year and even the 14ers barely have a dusting of snow.

I don't know why these rumors are spread (and if it is actually just rumors in your case) but just be careful. Maybe it's just someone who wants to spread panic for whatever reason.

I don't know if there are any such rumors going around. I don't watch local or national news and my social media activity is basically checking my notifications once a day to keep up with local groups that I spend time with in real life. This is Just me putting on my tinfoil hat. We have a fire or two in this state seems like every year but I've never seen anything close to this. The first and fourth largest wildfires in state history are burning right now. It's just hard to fathom how people can be so careless as to even consider a campfire right now, and if carelessness is eliminated, that leaves malicious intent.

I wouldn't rule out carelessness. People are DUMB and selfish. They don't really think about anyone other than themselves and a lot of campers will figure, "I know what I'm doing, so its OK if I have a fire."

States across the entire west burned hard this year. Thankfully WA and OR have been clear for awhile. I supplemented the filters on our HVAC system with fans blowing through cardboard boxes faced with MERV 13 filters all duct taped together. Looked kinda hillwilliam but it was amazing how much stuff those things kept us from breathing.

Several people were caught in the act of setting fires here in Oregon. A couple were close to me, one was 2 miles from me. These were not rumors, they were verified. The vast majority were called rumors by the media and state but they could not explain why a dozen fires started along the same road within minutes of each other. Two roads going to the eastern part of Oregon were shut down and many homes and businesses were lost.

The media has an agenda it would seem, and while I am not entirely sure what it is, it’s definitely there.

Well, what the hell is starting them? A moose? An elk that can go 0-60 in 2.2 seconds on a flint next to some kindling. Hell, it's hard to start a fire. Have you tried? It's not like squirrels can start them. And if there is no lightning, WTH is going to start a fire?

The guy that was caught 2 miles from me used a fireworks mortar that he placed against a building in dead grass. He was observed by several people who not only got the fire out but gave the license number and make of the motorcycle he was riding. He was caught within minutes, they searched his house and found 8 more mortars. This is how he set the fire.

I’m sure Trump set the fires 🔥. He did everything wrong. 🙄

What’s really sad is that all the bad is being BLAMED on him. The LEFT will do anything and EVERYTHING to destroy any hope of Trump winning. Destroying people’s lives and homes and the beauty of our country is something they could care less about.
