Ventilated seats

It may depend on the vehicle, but on most vehicles (new ones) they are cooled seats, and they do indeed use the A/C system. Some are just better than others. For instance, the "cooled seats" in my Challenger Hellcat aren't anywhere near as good as the ones in my mom's Mazda CX-5.

I may have to try a pair of those ones you ordered. It was 118 degrees Fahrenheit today here in Arizona where I live ;)

I believe that most (all?) cooled seats use Peltier coolers, not the A/C system in the car.

In my G80 the AC is not directly connected to the seats but there is a small damper and duct that diverts AC air that is going to the back console under each front seat and 4 ducted fans push the air up through the seat cushion and through a small plastic duct in the seat back. I know the Peltiers are small and maybe there are in the little ducts but there is definitely AC air vents in the sides of the console as well. It's amazingly effective.

I know GM uses (used?) Peltier heat pumps but they tended to stop working when the small, almost non serviceable, filters clog.

If it's Japanese or Korean it's on my short list, my BMW is on its last legs.

My G80 is the 4th Korean car we've owned. It's right up there with the top end Infinity and Lexus on the market IMO. I drove them all and settled on the G80.

We had a 2001 Kea Sophia.... which was purely basic transportation. I bought it for my older daughters to learn to drive in. It was worth $3,500 and had 80K on it when I bought it in 2005. They drove it for 4 years and we gave it to my Niece who drove it for another 5 and she gave it to her little sister etc.... It's basically falling apart around the drivetrain these days but it still runs great at over 250K.

More recently I've had a Santa Fe Turbo, the Elantra for my daughter and the Genesis (2017). Not one quality or mechanical issue in any of them. The 2.0 in the Santa Fe isn't the smoothest Turbo around but it's got a table flat torque curve from about 1200 to 6500. Like all modern GDI's it gets dirty and needs a top end flush from time to time but at 75K it's been a great car for what it is.

When the time comes go drive the Genesis line. I love the G70 with the twin turbo. Finding a lease return a couple years old you can probably get one for 25K or so too.... I got my G80 about 18 months ago from Carvana an it was 18 months old and about $16K below new sticker.
