I've always used Ace satin black, good sheen and easy to clean. Good nozzles too. But I'll give that Krylon a try.

While I would agree with you on the regular Rustoleum products, I find that the Rustoleum High Performance Enamel in the Silver Label spray can does work better than their regular products. It dries in 15-20 minutes to the touch and fully dry in an hour or so.
Next time I'm out, I will try the Krylon Rust Tough semi-flat black but Krylon is hard to find around my parts.

for whatever reason Amazon will not ship that to my address or any of my local Amazon drop boxes. WTF.
I can ship it to my parents in Oklahoma City but it will arrive 1 day too late for me to get it and bring it back while I'm there for Thanksgiving.
I can still get it at the auto parts store but it's not at a 6-pack price.

Yeah. I saw that after I posted. Price is reasonable but not great. I go through a lot of paint from scrapes, gouges and dents from rocks.
I've had really good luck with this stuff. Good looking flat finish also.

I actually wouldn't be opposed to that since taping takes just as long as painting. I'd just have to know I was using the right product, and I don't know enough about paint to determine that.
It appears all the preferred brands are aerosol. I suggested the oil based enamel and it appears for some it takes a while to dry.
I rolled/brushed 2 coats on a rusty utility trailer I bought a while back and it dried fine. They sell a lot of that paint, I’ve never heard that it wouldn’t dry?

I'm currently painting the body of my LJ with Tremclad which is a single stage oil-based enamel. I've used it on trailers, shop equipment, etc. since the '60s. It's the same as Rustoleum enamel (Rustoleum produces Tremclad) and it's just more popular in Canada. It works great and I've never had any drying problems. I spray it on with a 3 : 1 : 0.3 ratio - paint : mineral spirits : hardener. The hardener promotes gloss and improves the drying time but it's not really necessary.

Foam brush. No brush marks here.Foam or bristle?... I've used both on my frame plus aerosol and they all work.
Are you all using a primer after you sand the rust off and before painting? I am looking to refresh my TJ.
I think it will depend on what paint you're using. Personally, I don't apply a prime coat. But I'm using the rust reformer paint.
Been using the Eastwood extreme chassis black and it can be applied to bare metal.
