My BIL's new Harley

He just texted. His new Low rider S is being delivered next week. Very excited for him, this is his first Harley and he’s pumped!

We chatted for a bit about gear and parts. Made me miss mine again.


Here is a factory pic. The new models look very nice! It took a lot of time and money to get my ‘09 Streetbob to look this mean.


I still lust for a road glide. They will be my next and most likely final Harley.

That is a fine looking ride for sure! Love the blackout look. That's cool that he can get a custom look in stock form. I'm sure he will enjoy the heck out of it!

For sure.

I spent a lot to black mine out and it had a 96” twin cam.


This one has a 114” stock and much better suspension too. Inverted forks and a monoshock.

My neighbor who I worked with has a new street glide and tried to get me on it. I know it’s gonna be awesome. I don’t want to ride your bike (girl). It sounds amazing.

Other than the mechanic only 1 other person has ridden it since I bought it. I had wanted a CVO for YEARS but wasn't about to pay the $40K+ entrance fee. I had a 2011 Road Glide Ultra that I'd payed off in Sept 2018. Now LEGALLY I couldn't ride it at the time. Really didn't matter at this point becasue it was over at a buddies house. He'd sold his Harley and mine had been parked for 2 years so back in June 2017 I loaned it to him so it wouldn't sit in my garage and rot. So he'd always ridden bat wing bikes and was like most who didn't like the dual headlights & the frame mounted fairing. That was until he rode mine. He's sold on them now but while he had my RGU he'd bought his old bike back.

So the point of my story is I've known this guy since 1984. We didn't start off as friends but have grown to be. So my telling you I'd let you ride it is YES a huge deal. But I really would. Come spring if this COVID BS is over with I'll be headed your way to visit my daughter in school. Might have to stop by just to say howdy.

This was my old bike and my first time riding since my amputation. This was 28 April 2019 so 11 1/2 months since my amputation.

Big moment for me too. What sucks is I'd gotten my endorsement back about 5 weeks later and then I was taking it over to have a custom tune done on it. I pulled into the Safeway parking lot and BOOM Dropped it....... Couldn't get my right foot down fast enough.

So when I'd dropped it off to have it dyno'd and a custom tune done I'd seen that CVO because I was also bike shopping for my daughter. Everyone told me not to ride a M8 bike as I'd never want to go back to a Twin Cam. So I rode a 2020 RGU with the 114" M8 and then the CVO with a 110" Twin Cam RGU CVO and I picked the CVO. It was 5 years old and only had 6,400 miles on it. And the price was under $23K. So I got all my extras wrapped into the loan and traded in my old bike.

Sorry for high jacking your thread. I'd love to have a second bike similar to your BIL's. For day rides and stuff but I'd hot rod it....
They are now making a 131" kit for those bikes. Mine has over 105HP & 115TQ and these new bikes are up in the 150+ range.

It’s amazing what the new the M8 engines do. But I’d buy your CVO for that price any day!!!!

I had 3 RoadGlides. If Harley had offered them in a trike it would have been 4. This was probably my favorite one.

Here is my current ride since I needed the stability of 3 wheels (bad knees, bad hips, and just getting old). Pic was taken on a ride from AZ to AR last year.

No shame in riding 3 wheels IMO. When I get to that point I'll be converting mine into a trike also.

The nearest dealer is in Beaverton and I plan to stop and ride one too. Really loving the Darkhorse. Sexy bike!!!

Listen to him, bought my Indian Chief within 6 weeks of seeing my first one in person at the Benton County Fair MC show. To me they come off as a step above Harley with the fit, finish and performance. Wife and I did a 4 day road trip last July and she was amazed at the hotel parking lot interest over the Indian.

Yep, it's no joke.

I used to be a huge HD fan, but riding an Indian made me see the light, and that light is that HD has been resting on their laurels for way too long.

Once you ride one you will want to trade in your HD, I promise.
