Well thought we were going to get another year with no snow on the ground until after the New Years but the weather man was correct for once and it started snowing around 1400 hrs today.

Not a lot of it yet but it's just the fine powder type stuff that sucks.

We actually had some snow flurries this morning for a couple hours. First time I've seen snow fall on Christmas day in decades!

You’re living in the wrong part of the state. Or the right, depending on tour point of view on clearing snow, . Hour and a half NW and there’s enough that they’ve been grooming the sno-parks for about a week. We started getting flurries about the same time y’all did today.

When it snowed here in Oct I was thinking we were going to have a lot of snow this year but then it all melted and we only had a day or two of snow a few times. Then it would all melt and go back to just being wet and nasty out. Where I'm at is always a hit and miss thing for snow. But I'm about done with this white stuff and might have to go be a neighbor to Chris in AZ.

The PTO snowblower I have on the back of my tractor came from some folk down in the Yakima area that bought it new 96/97 when there was a huge amount of snow. Then it sat for a dozen plus years because the hit and miss aspect down that way. Never quite enough to use it without chewing up the gravel drive.
This year so far, here on the valley floor we’ve had some amount of snow since October. From covered to just in the shade depending on the rain. There should be a couple of feet now normally. La Niña years suck. I’m just hoping we get a good snow pack in the higher elevations for fire season.
The wife and I have talked about Arizona. I think we’re still too enamored with the mountains and piney woods yet. But man is there some pretty country down there to explore.

I lived in Yakima before I went to Iraq and they don't get a lot of snow most years. Of course in 2003 when I was locked down for all the training before we left it snowed like crazy and I wasn't there to be able to enjoy it with my Jeep.
Since I've lived here by Cle Elum it's been less and less snow most years it seems.

Yes I'm the same with not sure I could live without the views of the mountains and trees. It was part of why I picked my place where it is. There are still tress here but you go 10 more miles east to Ellensburg and it's the high desert with not many trees. Same as the land around Yakima. Heck we were still riding our motorcycles in early Dec most years.

I live north of the Exit 93 off ramp. But that is how you get to my house. I'm 10 mile east of Cle Elum.

Yep I know where that is and have been there before. It wasn't there back when I ran dogs here in WA in the mid 70's. They use to have races in the area behind the gas station near Silver Ridge campground there in Easton. I know they have had races in Cle Elum in the last few years on the power line access near the school.

I went to Camp Koinonia last year for a race but it was before they had any snow. I was amazed at how much things had changed in the different styles of wheeled rigs used. I built a 3 wheeled cart in welding class that looks nothing like what they use now. And back in the 70's we didn't do any of the 2 wheeled rigs. It's changed a lot.

We in east TN got a white Christmas this year, apparently for only about the 7th time in the past 100 years for this area! We took a drive to the Smoky Mountains to get a better look, but the park had the major roads through it closed.

I’ve got a 3 wheeled Risdon Rig sitting out back. Used to hitch up a 14 string with no issues. I could add iron weights to it for strength training and control-ability. Eventually graduated to a using a quad. Also have a 4 wheeled, low center of gravity cart for the Oregon Dunes. Think go kart wheels. 6-8 dogs max. Sadly I never made the trip to the dunes while I was still mushing. I’ve been across the Coos Bay bar many times, but never set foot in the dunes.

We had plenty of snow here in lower NY until last night. 60MPH winds, low temps and torrential rain wiped that all away today.
