1" body lift questions

I’m veering towards a 1in BL. Is there anything that I should consider? Brand? Type? Transfer cable operability? Gas filler length? I know many with the 1.25 BL had to upgrade their transfer case shifter. I’ll be in the market soon for an atlas and I don’t want to spend something I may not have use for afterwards. I’m aware of having to raise the fan shroud to compensate for the lift. Thanks guys.

You want aluminum body lift mounts, so you'll find that almost everyone here will recommend the Savvy 1.25" body lift. The reason for this is that poly mounts such as JKS will actually compress over time and compress depending on how tight you bolt them down. Aluminum will of course not do this.

In addition, you want 1.25", not 1". That extra 1" makes a big difference when it comes to tucking the transfer case believe it or not.

PPA is a pretty good construction material, interesting to see it in a body lift. You are confusing PPA (which you have) with polyurethane (which is bad for a BL).

I've had the Performance Accessories BLs too and no problems. Nylon is what they list their material as. "Poly" is just a term used for a few things. I try not to analyze the materials too much. I just know what works for me.

I’m sure. Ever so slightly, but it’s been on for 6+ years and has been silent the whole time and is now finally showing visible squish. Albeit not that much. I do plan on replacing it though.

I've used the Energy Suspension 1" BL kits twice now (once on TJ, once on YJ) and both times they have worked well. They are urethane but have a steel top and core just like the factory bushings do. As a matter of fact, they completely replace the factory bushing and hardware at the same time.

Mine had plenty of clearance for a 2" tummy tuck as well with some room to spare...

I went with Rough Country because they were in stock and they are a rigid hard "plastic" absolutely no issues. You will need to adjust your fan shroud and possibly shifter cable. My kit came with a shifter relocation bracket that was not needed in my case.
My opinion just stay away from the plyable or soft pucks.

I have the Zone 1.25" waiting to be installed, I got it because it was affordable, came with all the brackets (radiator and TC) to align all the bits and pieces
I'll eventually replace the pucks with Savvy (proudly drinking the Kool-Aid) and the TC bracket with a Savvy cable (mmmm, kool-aid)
and just be left with the Zone radiator brackets

I’ve ran JKS 1.25’s on 3 different jeeps with no issues. Biggest pain is getting the grill bumpers to seat. I always install motor mount lifts at the same time so no other mods are needed to the rest of the jeep. I would recommend getting either a transfer case linkage relocation bracket from advanced adapters or a cable shifter from Savvy as well. It will make things easier if you decide to get a high clearance belly skid down the road.

Daystar 1" (poly). No issues. It replaces the whole mount which includes the sleeve which keeps it from compressing.

Unless you have a Savvy budget; no need to buy the cable shifter. The BL should come with a relocation bracket to make the transfer case linkage work.
