I am getting ready to rework my wiring harnesses. My issue is deciding how I should run everything. What is the best way to go. I want the jeep to be street legal and pass emissions. I am not running a/c. What im looking for is pretty much a list of whats needed and not from the gm harness for which ever setup that is decided same for the jeep harness. Also what lines can be reused for other things such as power cables or lights. I know there are bits and pieces of information everywhere but non that I have found that is both harnesses jeep ls swap specific with full detail. I am using lt1swap.com/2000harness.htm which is great but I need a direction and a set path. Can anyone help.

Do you have the factory service manual for your year Jeep? And what about the donor vehicle? The wiring diagrams are in the Jeep factory manual.
What are you plans for gauges? Are going to try and use the stock dash or aftermarket gauges?

I dont have the jeep service manual. I am looking to downoad them know. Gauges what is the better way. It looks like most people run two computers and keep the factory ones. Is that the most efficient way. Is it better to go ftermarket. Donor was probably a 2000 or 20001 chevy 2500hd. Engine was allready pulled when picked it up didnt see the vehicle.

I have the jeep service manual now. It was on the forum.

I have a Dodge V-8 in mine so my wiring is easier than yours.

I've read swaps where people kept the stock gauges and others where they went aftermarket. I think if I was doing a LS swap I'd go aftermarket gauges because it's less hassle.

You have the Auto Meter dash pod for around $100 that one of the members here has but he doesn't like it because it blocks the view to the two lower gauges.

There use to be a guy called 12VoltUnlimted that made a TJ dash but his website has expired.

LT1 swap will have everything you should need to do what you are asking. Their facebook page has a lot of pics too. You'll need a TJ manual or use Alldata for your year.

The lights and other circuits are on your TJ side harness. You'll strip the GM one down to basic needs, and use the TJ side harness for everything else.
