Did I make the right decision? Wheel question

Hey guys!

I am about to pull the plug to sell my Moab 16x8 rims (+my current 230/70r16 Goodyear Wrangler Adventure A/T with Kevlar tires) in order to buy some Procomp 15x8 rims (7069 or 7031) and run some KO2s 31/10.5r15.

I am a little bit nervous to sell the Moab rims since I dont know how easily I could find a set again if I change my mind. ( I am not in the USA).
It's the only way to start running 15" with bigger tires with Load Range C, because I could sell Moab rims quite expensive here in Greece.

Am I making the right decision? Would you sell the Moab Rims to buy Pro Comp aluminums?
 
I do like the look of the stock Moab wheels, but I just sold mine last week without much of a thought. The tire options are just so much more extensive on 15” or 17” wheels and at better prices. I think I saved about 44$/tire which will pretty much pay off the wheels in another set.

I sold my Moabs 2 weeks ago and have never looked back.

What pro comps are you looking at? Moabs do look awesome, but its hard to find tires for the 16's. If you ever think you'll want to switch back to them, keep them.

Pro Comp 7031 or Pro Comp 7069. 15x8, 3.75 backspacing.

The only reason I want to sell them, is to fund the 15"rims/31"tires upgrade.

Is there at least one reliable All Terrain choice Load Range C 31" for 16s? Do you have any idea?

the 15" rims will give you a wider tire range, and the load range C is more appropriate.

the 7069's look great too :cool:

Maybe before you sell, spray them with Plasti-dip. I did this with my 2006 Ram 1500, somewhat similar wheels, and it made them look custom on the cheap.

Quick story why. I had Pro Comp wheels in black with machined edges, looked great. About 4 years later one wheel developed a crack on one spoke near the barrel (machined too much?) and wouldn’t hold air. Had it warrantied, then one year later (almost to the day) another did the same thing. 4 wheel drive truck for snow but not off road. Had all replaced, got store credit at 4wheel parts, Plasti-dipped my originals. Bought Bistein 5100’s and brake pads with credit.

That's not the issue he's faced with.
 
I’d sell them. I don’t personally like them. To me, they look like the belong on an 80’s Camaro more than a Jeep

He already said he wanted to keep them, but was selling because of tire size options.
But you're right, he could just plasti-dip them..

Yes, there is a Goodyear Duratrac available in a 265 (which is 31”) and it is C load range. That’s literally the only one I’ve ever found.

The good news is that that’s a great tire.
