Ok so recently I found out that jeeps have "easter eggs" which appear to be various hidden emblems or phrases, etc (just do a Google image search ) pretty much All images are from newer jeeps though.

After some research I've read that jeep started this trend with the TJ but I can't find anything on mine. I was wondering if there is in fact Easter eggs on the TJ and if so where to look for them.

Here's a picture of the only easter egg I know about on my TJ. Got it the first weekend of April last year to spend the day at Southington Off Road park.

I'm not saying there aren't others. Who knows?

Not so much an Easter egg, but something cool I found. I found “SB” engraved into my paint under my driver seat and behind the driver headlight. My old Jeep was “Bright Silver Metallic” and the paint code was “PSB.” Every Chrysler vehicle paint code starts with “P,” so it dawned on me that my paint code was physically drawn into the wet paint.

I have all of my carpet out right now to lay down noiseproofing and have the same mark (mine is also bright silver metallic).

going on 20yrs for TJ's and just now this is coming out?

or this is for JL and Gladi owners that paid way to much, so they think they got something special?

next they'll rumor these's only 25 gecko's and they are a collectors item now.

No, us JL and Gladiator owners who grew up around CJs, YJs, TJs, JKs and now the JL and JT have known this for decades. The seven slots that is. I just wished Jeep would always keep an Army Green in the color lineup.

The Easter Egg thing began with the JK and increased a bit when the Renegade was introduced. Before then, we saw Easter Eggs in movies, video games and television shows.

They are little referential in-jokes originally intended for the true fans who paid attention to the details or were immersed in a genre. These days, the specialness has faded since everyone knows about them. It's just part of the marketing used to make you feel like you are part of the club, except that everyone is a part of the club now.

As far as I know, the only Easter egg us TJ owners get is the original one...the cowl. It has the same 7 slat design.

This is the only one I'm aware of.

And I'm good with that. Having rented Jeep's entire lineup over the last year or so, I wish they'd spend their time building a better vehicle than dropping grille icons all over.
