Share your favorite watch

Have quite a few watches, but my favorite is my Seiko skx007 dive watch my dad gave me when I was in college.

I still daily wear it to work, bed, in the shower, and of course swimming. Unfortunately it does lose about 2-3 minutes per day.

That's probably because it has a "perpetual" calendar and are very hard to set correctly if you don't know anything about them, you have to account for the leap year we're in for it to work properly (you probably already knew this).
I had one and had to use their website instructions to reset mine every time when it quit running.
My capacitator went out in mine making it junk, I loved that watch.

I have done the same thing, let it die and then recharge and adjust, but I never had a problem getting it going again. Wonder why you couldn't get yours going again.
 
One of my favorites, Hamilton Piping Rock.
These were given out as awards to the 1928 Yankees World Champions.
Babe Ruth and Lou Garrig (spl?) were amongst the recipients, Ruth's was sent in to Hamilton by a family member after his death to be serviced ( the team members name was engraved on the side of the watch) to be never seen again still today.
They've estimated the watch is worth north of $500,000 or more today. It's probably in somebodies sock draw or personal collect.
This is the re-issue Hamilton released many years ago and I was able to grab one.

If you've set it correctly and know you have and it still doesn't work correctly it can be (and most likely) the capacitator has gone bad.
They're advertised as having no battery, but they have a rechargeable battery on the inside.
 
I've had this Seiko for over 30 years, it was a gift from my parents and I still wear it today.
It's "pseudo" divers watch, but I still love it.

I'll have to give it another shot this weekend and see if i can find the directions on citizens website

I'm pretty sure you can also override the complicated automatic perpetual time and set it to whatever time you like. Then you would just have to adjust for day light savings and stuff manually. I was able to reset the perpetual calendar, receive the signal and update time automatically.

You don't wanna do that because now you have a regular watch you have to advance or revert the date for each month instead of letting the perpetual calendar do it for you.
The automatic time reset from the national time satellite is something totally different.
Not all the perpetual calendar watches have that feature.

Oh yea, definitely prefer the automatic time set, but I someone is struggling getting that setup, it is still an option to use the watch. I agree, it is pretty weird setting it up, but well worth it!!

Absolutely, just find out what year we're in in the leap years and go from there.
 
I am not much of a watch person as far as collecting them or anything. I like bigger watches and always just had what ever struck my fancy. Then my doctor wanted me to keep track of my step count and I would forget to take my phone with me when I would go on my walks. So 2 years ago my daughter got me a Samsung Galaxy watch that connects to my phone so I could keep track of my steps. I try for 5-6K step each day. It's easier some days but harder other times.

My favorite watch however is a simple elegant watch given to me from my mom from her days at &Boeing, I can’t wear it. Women’s watch.

Would love to get the male version,
Classic simple silver face, silver hands. The Boeing symbol in Chrome is the only thing on the face. With black leather bands. I’ll post a pic when I get home.
