He may chime in with some more, that’s the only one I have though. Lots of time and money into that thing.

Not as much as you would think. The rework we did was because we cut the flange off to make it fit the fenders. I'm not smart enough with fiberglass to make a new flange, but I am smart enough to tape a flat along the bottom edge and lay in several layers of cloth to thicken the lower edge inward which worked. There was one small area at the rear left side that didn't line up perfectly with the cowl. I bent up a piece of 1/4" flat bar and bolted that in to flatten out the dip which pulled the lower corner in and lined the upper edge back up with the cowl. I glassed over that, pulled the bolt and had the body shop fill the hole. All in took us maybe a day to get it where I wanted it.

Love, but if you did a body match weatherstrip, it might look cleaned up. It's at least worth putting one on to see how it turned out. Wouldn't cost much.
EDIT: IDK, maybe just clean that edge up, forget the pen, get some spray and mask everything else off and hit that edge. Post back the results. Looking good for a Pole Vaulter.

And that’s a wrap on the cutting with side 2 done. Extremely happy with how it turned out. When you look at it in person it honestly fits right in.

Thanks guys! Appreciate the love. Making a nice cut that followed the contour of the fender was a bit daunting at first but it wasn’t too bad. @toximus thread and @someguysjeep s pencil trick really helped me out.
Oh, and I’m still jealous. One day I’ll be there when I retire to UT or AZ and the coverage laws don’t exist and the trails merit it.
Here’s some potentially helpful photos. My fenders seemed to have about 1/4” bow in them. So I marked where my fender was on the grill and on the tub. Then made a mark 1/4” below each of those so I would have some cushion. I ran a laser from mark to mark and made first cut. After that I used a flap disc to contour the front and rear towards the center. The middle ended up being about perfect height.
Next I took a #2 pencil and ran it on its side down the hood. This gave me a 1/8” gap all the way down the hood line. Cut and grinder up to that line.
Then I took a sanding block and sanded the edge. I used some fine grit on the actual paint side to get any flaked paint off. I’ll use a touch up brush and brush paint on the edges. No weatherstrip for me.

I’m in! In all honesty there’s a lot of mystique about the highline it seems but I really don’t think it’s that bad. I can understand why someone like @jjvw wouldn’t want one considering all the stuff he has under the hood. But, for someone like me with no extras under the hood it’s not bad at all. Cut a couple tabs off brackets here, bend a couple things there, move things around, it’s really easy.
A highline is probably more straight forward and easier to deal with for most than the fight I had re-engineering the entire front suspension just to make it look somewhat stock.
This was my thoughts as well. I learned something from your build. That I want that rear wall pushed back as well as the ability to go above stock hood line. I also wanted no flare because they catch on everything. Standard genright flares reduce uptravel which is something I’m not willing to pay for. That left me with Boulder highlines
